bicornuate uterus help getting preg

Is there anything you suggest I do to enhance my chances of getting pregnant?  I have a bicornuate uterus and no luck so far.  My doctor says to just keep trying, but if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

I have a bicornate uterus too. IT has taken me years to get pregnant and then all of the sudden i got pregnant right off this time. I do know i prayed every day for this pregnancy. also the only other thing i did different was use Robitusin with that stuff that starts with a G..  can't recall the name...but it thins your cervical mucous.i jsut took some around ovulation time. I jsut know it stars with a G... Also i used the sperm meets egg plan. I ovulate every 14 days and i had sex before that day and got the spermies there waiting for the egg to drop. there's another lady on her with a bicornate uterus. She's around 21-22 weeks now,,, she told me about it. She'll post when she sees your comment and she can help as well. Hope

Hi! There is hope for us ladies. I am 20.5 weeks now and things are going very very well. I havent had as much heartache as hopeinal but I have to say that her faith and optimism have helped her keep a positive attitide that most likely helps keep her body running smoothly during tough times. I too used the Sperm meets Egg plan to make sure I had the little spermies in the right place at the right time. The website is

http://www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm

I have to say though that it says to test with the ovulation kit from days 10 to 20 (I think). You might want to start testing a couple of days  earlier (my sister-in-law ovulated on day 8 and I didn't ovulate until day 21). How long have you been trying ttc? Have you discussed it with your doctor? I'm wondering if there are any positions that help during intercouse? I wish you luck and keep in touch.

My husband and I have been trying for almost 2 years now.  I had an ectopic preg. back in Aug. so I know there is a chance to conceive.  My doctor and I talk often but she just wants me to keep trying on our own.  She doesn't seem worried.  Thanks for the advice.  It's always easier to discuss this with someone who is going through similar things.  Im glad to hear that everything is going well with your pregnancy.  It makes me less nervous about carrying one of my own.

Hi everyone! I am 27 years old, and have had 4 miscarriages since I was 16. I have seen several different doctors who had said the same thing, getting pregnant wasnt the problem, carrying my baby was. They had told me I had a bicornate uterus, and if I didnt have avery expensive surgery by the time I turn 30 to give up.  I got pregnant last Feb.  I was scared I was going to lose this one, too. I found a doctor who specializes in high risk pregnancies, he helped me.  I am now the mother of a beautiful and very healthy 4 month old boy. My advise to anyone who wants a baby and is having troubles like this is dont give up, if I can have this little miracle, you can, too!

I've recently had a misscarridge and when having a scan was told i had a bicornate uterus. The midwife said there was nothing to worry about however when i was going into have my d&c the surgeon told me this could be the cause of my loss. I had also in the past been diagnosed with pcos, got told it would be difficult for me to get pregnant and loose weight etc and that was about it i'd have to get on with it.All i've ever wanted was to have a baby and since being with the man i very much love and adore has only cemented this feeling.I feel totally confused and very lost, this was the first site i've stumbled accross and could do with some guidance!

Hi I'm only 22, and I have just had the most strange experience today! i found out i was pregnant last week. and I it came as a shock as I thought I was infertile! But when the doctor did an ultrascan she said that it was trapped in my falopian tube, and I had to go to surgery right away. I was sooo scared, and I am living in a foreign country at the moment! When i arrived at the hospital, i waited for three hours and was told that I had a bicornulate uterus. I am only four weeks pregnant, so it is very early days yet. But now I know it is safe, I am praying that it is healthy :O)

Any hints and tips to stay healthy ladies in my first few weeks?

Thanks

Kirsty

Hi everyone,
I am 20 years old and me and my husband want a baby very badly. We have been trying for almost two years. I have a bicornuate uterus and i only have one overy (because of this, i can never have a reg. period unless i am on birth control). Also i have a tilted uterus. I have been to different doctors. One told me to give up on ever having a baby; I cant have one, and to work on my relationship because this would end it. The other doctor I went to told me this was not a problem. He said he could help us get pregnant and have a healthy baby. But he just told me he could no longer help me because his office no longer takes our insurence. So, I guess my question is..does anyone know how we can get pregnant or have any suggestions for us?? I am constatly praying but so far god has been ignoring me.
please help us,
cody

dont give up, keep your faith it will happen for you

i have almost the same condition as you with the tilted as well as bicornuate uterus. it is possible to get pregnant i had my son almost two years ago an went through a completly normal pregnancy i had hardly any complications at all until delivery. he was breach but still delivered vaginally an he was only 3 weeks early.(ive heard allot of women dont carry full term with the bicornuate uterus).unfortunatly i just miscarried our second child, this is when they discovered the problems with my uterus. dont give up! it will happen for you and your husband probably when you least expect it. try the missionary possistion but elevated ( try putting a pillow under your butt) this is how we conceived.    Good Luck!

I also have a bicornuate uterus as well as pcos. When I heard this news from my doctor over a year ago I almost crumbled in disappiontment. My husban and I have been trying for three years now and still nothing. Every one I know is having babies, and the sad thing is most of them dont really want them. Some times I get very depressed that it will never happen to us, but when I read insperational stories such as some of these it helps alot to know theres still hope. Thank you all for the hope and determination u've given me. =D

Hello, Everyone I too have a bicornuate uterus. I am 27 years old been pregnant once about 4 years ago had a miscarriage and thats when I found out from a nurse that I had a bicornuate uterus. I was shooked on the ultrasound it looked like I had 2 uteruses instead of one. I have been trying for the longest and everytime I think I am I get put down with a negative pg test. I feel like Im getting to old not to have no kids. Im affraid when I get pregnant I lose the baby like the first pregnancy. It is very depressing watching all these people around me have babies and I dont have one. Well I guess Ill pray on it and leave it in gods hands to show me whats ment but I think of all the things I can try like artifical pregnancy do anyone think thats worth it? When I got pregnant the first time it was because me and my fiance would have sex on the regular 4 and 5 times out the week so I guess I wasnt to suprise about the pregnancy but at least I can get pregnant cause there was a time I didnt think it would ever happen and I guess that was gods way of showing me. So ladys I know this is hard for all of us but at least we have hope to having a baby some woment cant ever have one. Good luck everyone.

I am 22 years old and my husband and I want a baby more than anything. I have had 7 miscarraiges since I was fifteen and the doctor believes I am infertile now. We just found out a year ago what causes me so many problems. My husband is a great support system but he really the only stable support system I have. My mother got on the internet and looked up the risks of pregnancy and is terrifed if I do get pregnant and stay through term that delivery will kill me. I am one of the rare cases, as the doctor called me, because my split uterus causes so much harm: constant pain, months on end bleeding, or no bleeding at all for months. Am I crazy for just one time wanting to feel what its like to have a baby naturally? I say that if I an be blessed with just one naturally that I will adopt the rest.

Hi I'm 32 yrs old and my husband and I have been trying to conceive as well. I was told by my fertility doctor that I do have a bicornuate uterus but it is possible to get pregnant. I have been on several rounds of Chlomid and I think I'm at the point of stop trying with the meds and letting god do what he wants for us. My doctor has upped my dose of Chlomid and still nothing. He said that everything for me has checked out fine but we had to regulate my menstrual cycle. I pray for each and every one of you that are trying but my best advice is to let go and let god!!!!

Hi I also have a bicornuate uterus.I had my first daughter who is now 11 and she was even overdue by 8 days and I was induced. Then we tried for years to have another one and it took ten years but finally I had another girl she is almost 2 now.Now she had growth restriction and I was induced 5 weeks early. But they are both very healthy girls! So as hard as it is thinking it is never gonna happen...don't loose your faith it is possible.I know it is very hard when everyone else is having babies and you want one so bad.I just hope my story can give a little hope.Took ten years but it finally happened.Lots of prayers!
Good luck!

Hi Ladies. I'm 36 y/o and I'm diagnosed with partial bicornuate uterus 2 days ago. We were very shocked..Can't stop thinking about it. Feels like I can't move on with this big blow. Reading about your stories, getting pregnant and giving births keeps me hoping that there's still a miracle. I hope a miracle will happen to all of us with this problem.
To all those who have conceived and gave birth, please tell us if there's anything that we should do or not do while trying to get pregnant. You're insights, opinions, knowledge are important to us. There's only few websites about bicornuate uterus.

wow I had no idea there were so many of us with a bicornuate uterus out there. I want to share this with you all. When I was 17 I became pregnant and carried my now 16Yr old daughter through to my 8th month. She was small at 5 lbs but today she is not so tiny lol. There is always prayer and hope. I didnt find out about the bicornuate uterus until my 16th week of my pregnancy with her..I had no bleeding although I did have some cramping throughout. Pretty much uneventful. However 4 years later I suffered a miscarriage at 8 weeks. Today we are trying to conceive- its been a little over 6 months or so and again a miscarriage at 5 weeks in September.So- girls out there with BU- have faith it will happen- life finds a way. Although I am afraid to keep trying- I wont because I know in my heart God knows how badly I want to have another child. No prayer falls on deaf ears with the almighty. It may take a while, but I believe it will happen again..and it will be the small  miracle we have all been waiting for. Please do not give up. Im testimony that you definitely can conceive with this condition..there are many out there that cannot at all even with a normal uterus..stay strong and baby dust to us all.

I have just turned 40, finally found a good partner last year and surprisingly got pregnant aug 2011... i have never been so nervous or excited as my partner has had his children and this came out of blue. i lost the baby at 11wks, but the hardest thing for me ever was seeing the screen of nothing when I was expecting to see a heartbeat... this was a hard moment.

This was my 2nd miscarriage (1st was in jan 2008) that I know of...  and while I knew I had a bicornate uterus I was never advised at the time of issues once i was ready for children.

Now i have a partner, a 13yr old step daughter full time and am happy as hell, but I want the complete picture with a baby of my own.

I have just found out I have a complete double uterus and a double cervis.

PLEASE anyone out there with success stories, I would really like to know about to give me a little hope so know I have a chance. And if there are things oout there I dont know about to help us.

Hey all,
I have read all of these stories, some very touching ones. When I was 5 years old, I had a surgery where the doctors went in and split my uterus. The doctor told my mom that I would NEVER be able to get pregnant. When I was 9, i began my period, abnormal, heavy and painful. i was in a relationship of 2.5yrs..at the age of 15.. never used condoms... didnt care if i got pregnant (honestly didnt think it would ever happen)... at the age of 19 got in a relationship (at the time was only together 3 months...but went to school with this person) went for my yearly pap.. found out i was pregnant... had a miscarriage 1.5 mos later,... doctor said my hormones seemed low... that ended my relationship... he said he didnt want to be with me if i couldnt carry... i dont know if that was gods way of showing me i could get pregnant or what... been trying with my husband of 2 yrs now and no success... any advice?? all is welcome:) thx and good luck to all
