by tka, Feb 04, 2004 12:00AM
I have been spotting and sometimes bleeding for 26 days now. It is actually a little more this week. Does anyone know if this is perimenopause? I am 42 and will be 43 in April.Thanks.

I found following on the web, I hope it helps. I am 41 so I know how you feel. Last month my AF came on cd21 when it's come on cd 28 for years! I also began to worry about perimenopause. I think God just wanted me to focus less on my cycle so He mixed it up on me. Now I have no idea where I'm at. :{

WHAT IS PERIMENOPAUSE?

Perimenopause, or pre-menopause is a transitional stage of two to ten years before complete cessation of the menstrual period. Its average duration is six years, and can appear in women from 35 to 50 years of age. This has not been a stage of women's lives much talked about, and a woman can find herself experiencing puzzling changes, and not know why. What is actually going on is a gradual decrease of estrogen. The manifestations of perimenopause can vary. Here are some of the most commonly reported ones:
