bleeding with IUD

i have had a iud for about a year and stop having a period for a long time could i be pregnant if i only bleed for one day and are having pains in my lower stomach?

A pregnancy test will tell you if you're pregnant, but chances are very, very low of getting pregnant with IUD. It can happen but is very rare. Do you have Mirena? I had that and had lots of problems with it. I got it taken out and went with Copper T, which I loved and will have again after this pregnancy is over.

Thanks yes i have a mirena. what exactly is the copper T? is it better for you?

I loved Copper T. It has no hormones whatsoever. It's just a copper IUD and it lasts ten years. I had regular cycles and felt great with a strong sex drive. The mirena was a nightmare. I had acne, bloating, bleeding all the time and extreme mood swings.

see with the mirena i didnt bleed at all except this one time but only for one day. with the copper T do you have regular flow, to much or not at all?

I just had an interesting experiment with my Mirena IUD. I have been unable to find the strings for my IUD for the past four months. I went to a doctor who was also unable to find the IUD. We weren't sure if it had fallen out or migrated through the cervix. (Incidentally, I love the IUD. I haven't had any problems before this. And I love not having periods!)

Then three nights ago I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I took another one the next morning and it was also positive. I usually don't get a positive result until at least 8 weeks, so I thought that I would hurry into my OB to make sure everything was okay because I had no idea how far along I would be. Well it turns out that the doctor's test was negative. He even checked my uterus and found that it was unchanged.

Go figure!

what bleeding have you had?  i've been on mirena for 1.5yrs...period every 6-8mos until last 3....now every few weeks....concerned...

i just got mirena inserted april 27 2009 and im still bleeding is that normal it has me so scared.. am i suppose to bleed that much..

I have the copper IUD for 5 years..... Ive had it in for 1 and a half years now.... extreme bleeding for periods....headachs....I hated it to begin with.... now im pregnant...because the iud got lost somewhere inside me... I have a doctors apt. on Monday.... Now thats scary... I already have 4 children... and really trusted the IUD!!!

Also to add i still have my peroid... very light.... not everyday.... but still there.... any answers??????
