blighted ovum or not?

I have a question.  I went in to see my doctor yesterday for a new pregnancy.   My LMP was somewhere around the 30th of October.  I do not know when my ovulation was, but I got my first faint positive the day before Thanksgiving.  He said this would put me at 6 weeks if my dates are correct.   He did a transvaginal ultrasound because he always does one to confirm dates.  All that was there was an empty sac.  He said this could mean one of two things, either my dates are wrong and I am not 6 weeks yet, or I have a blighted ovum and will miscarry.   He took a HCG blood test, and I go for another one tomorrow to see if they have doubled.  I am scared to death.  I want this baby so much.  I guess I am just wondering what my chances are that the dates were just off, or if it would be foolish of me to hope for such a thing????  I have all the pregnancy symptoms, nausesa, sore breasts, acne, and so on.  I have had some slight cramping, but nothing severe and absolutely no blood.  My husband keeps having dreams of a little girl with long brown hair, and he does not even especially want another child.

The only thing you can do is wait, your dates could be off.  I had a blighted ovum and missed carried at 9w.  I was bleeding however too.  I think you should just wait it out a week or two.  My hcg levels did go up a little even though I was miscarring, they didn't go up that much but were still going up regardless.  There wasn't anything in my sac either

Hi, sorry to hear that you are all confused but I think the best thing for you to do is to wait and stay positive, don't stress out too much. I had a blighted ovum at the beginning of this month and I desided to wait and see, hoping its not true. But my hcg levels kept dropping and I started bleeding and passing stuff, I still didn't want to go with a D&C, and now my doctor put me on antibiotics cuz I developed infection. But I think you should just wait and cuz could still too early. Keep praying and I really hope they will be able to find a tiny little baby next time you go for an ultra sound. Well my levels did go up, but they did not double.  They went from 3200 to 4900.  I have an appointment to go in on Tuesday for an ultrasound.  He says basically it could still go either way.  So I guess we will see.  I am afraid to hope.
