blood clotting

by LALU63, Jun 07, 2008 08:49PM
My sister had a baby just five weeks ago and is still bleeding heavily. Blood clotts as big as a soft balls have been coming out of her obn the regular, she's been gettting light headed and has fainted once. She's been in our small town hospital in Wisconsin and they keep sending her home with pills that will help pass the clotts but with no explanations on why this is occuring. When she gave birth she was hemridging so bad she had to have a blood transfusion. Why is this happening, can someone give us advice? Do you think I should bring her to Minnesota? I'm bringing her in again now, please respond. wish us luck.........

Hi,

This is very serious and i think you should seek more professional help / a second opinion. Please do before it gets worse. I'll pray for her.

I agree with Shanny.  I dont know what is causing this BUT this is absolutely abnormal and warrants immediate medical investigation.  I have had bad experiences with doctors in small towns so would definitely get your sister to a larger hospital where they might have more experience so she can get the appropriate treatment she so desperately needs (if she is able to travel).  Look for the largest hospital closet to where she lives.
