bottles?

bottles?

Ok, so I still need to buy some stuff, but the thing is I dont know how much to buy.  Like I need to get bottles, but how many do I need?  I am strictly bottle feeding so how many should I get?  Also, for those playyards do you buy sheets to put in there or not?

i'd get one each of about 8 different kinds. get a range of nipple types (wide, small, latex, silicone, etc) since some babies are pickier than others. of my kids, one liked the playtex silicone advantage with the tilted bottle, one liked the avent, one liked the platex regular latex, and we havent tried bottles yet with the newborn. good luck-

I don't think you can have too many bottles. The more you have, the less often you have to clean them. To be safe, I would have at least 8. I bfed my kids but supplemented and always had 8-10 bottles. You can also look into a system with liners to avoid having to always sterilize bottles. That way, you only need to worry about having clean nipples.

As for the sheets, that's up to you. I never used the sheets in my play yard but my kids use it for playing and not sleeping. I do have a few sheets though for when we travel and use the hotel's pack n plays.

i started with the avent bottles and got 6 4 oz and 6 8 oz bottles. my little one quickly outgrew the 4 oz bottles, so i now have 10 8 oz bottles and that will usually last me all day and nite with some to spare. i sterilize and make bottles every night and find that 10 is a good number for me. i would say def 10 -12 to start, because life with a newborn is hectic and the last thing you want to do is make a bottle for a hungry baby.

i did get sheets for my play yard, only because my baby slept in the bassinet part of the pack and play instead of a regular bassinet for the first 8 weeks. after 8 weeks, we moved him into the crib, but i still keep the bassinet attachment with a sheet on it and sometimes he will lay it and watch the mobile while i do something....like go to the bathroom or change. i think if you are only going to use it for playing when the baby is older and sitting up,  i wouldn't worry about sheets.

good luck with your baby! :o)
