My son is three, but I believe they should be having a BM at a minimum of once a day. Most have more than that.

My daughter as a newborn had only one a week.  I was concerned, but the doctor said just to keep feeding her.  She was solely breastfed.  She was the sweetest baby on days 1-3, started getting grumpy on day 4, and was a holy terror by day 7- and who can blame her!  Once she got started, she'd go and go.
I very occasionally gave her an ounce of prune juice diluted in four ounces of water, but I can't say it helped at all.  I'm sorry to say what finally "cured" her was getting stomach flu when she was three months old... she's been pretty regular since then.
There was one evening when she pooped a little, and once I had her diaper open she started going more and more.  She was grunting, I was holding her legs in the air, and her papa and I were both saying "push! push!"  I suddenly had a flashback to labor.

Victoria is right about the frequency (danger of autointoxication etc etc) - fortunately the prune juice usually works

Dd went 3 days once without bm.  It's not uncommon especially if you are b/f.
