boy names please

hi guys. i am having a boy and i dont have a clue on names. i have been searching for a name that is unique and bearly heard of. my own name is vista and my sister's name is helia and my mom's name is minoo. so we all have real different names. i am lookign for a nice boy name . any ideas? i will appreciate all your boy name ideas. thank you.

i would look at internet name searches, but consider looking at names from other nationalities. a name very common in another language can sound very unique and exotic in english, and you can also look at the meaning of the name too. we've all heard the spanish names- look at less familiar languages. good luck!

I am sort of old fashioned, I like classic names or names from the Bible. I have 2 girls, but if I had a boy, I was going to name him Gabriel. Another name that kinda grew on me was Malachi. I thought it sounded neat. I have always loved Alexander as well...Those are my ideas. Good luck!

I also agree with tiredbuthappy about the other nationalities. We saw in the baby name book that Novia in Spanish means sweatheart and just ended up changing it to Navia for our daughter (pronounced like Nadia with a V.)

We are naming our little boy  Jeremiah Nathaniel. We like biblical names, and some of them are very rare and unique. We also like Jeremiah Hunter.  I also like the names Asher, Samuel, Levi, and Judah. Good luck with everything!! =)

I had a girl but at the time we did not know what we were having and our boy name was going to be Jacob Francis.  I did not realize then how popular Jacob was or else I would not have chose that.  So if I were having a boy now I would still not have a clue what to name him.  Boy names are hard.  I like names that are not very popular.  Good Luck

We named our son Jace Jaxon.. but our other names we liked were Siance (pronounced Science)  and Sawyer .  We wanted something that wasn't as popular so that there wouldn't be 5 boys in his class with the same name..

I like to go by meanings... if you go to babynames.com you can search by meanings and get a whole bunch of unique names from all origins.

For example, if you want to name your son after your sister, her name, "Helia" means "sun".  So, here's some boys names that mean the same:
Ciro, Cyrus, Divakar, Giran, Kirit, Mentari, Solaris, Sulwyn and Suvan (I like these last two!!!  You could go with "Sully" and "Vannie" for short.)  If you go with naming after your sister's first three letters (Hel..), you get: Helki or Heller.

Here's if you want to name him after your mom, "Minoo".  Her name means "Heaven":
Gagan, Irem, Kalani, Nalani, and Zulu.  If you go with naming after the first 3 letters of your mom's name (Min...) and you get: Mingan, Minyan, Minze.

Your name was harder to find, "Vista", but one sight gave it the Italian origin for the meaning "sight".  Here's the names it gave:  Beauregard ("Bo"), Darshan, & Hades.  With your first 3 letters:  Visalan, Visolan.

Anyway, GOOD LUCK!!  I loved sorting through all the baby name books and baby sites online.  We ended up naming our sons after their father, Allen, and went with "Alexander" (we call him Xander) and "Alden".

That is too funny!! My husband's brother's name is Nathaniel and we both really liked the way they sound together...Jeremiah Nathaniel. But that's so cool!! I have never heard anyone with the name yet....so that's neat that someone else is actually named that. =)

Also look at the social security website, they have the top 100 names for each year. Some names are becoming pretty popular. Jace, Z/Xander, Jaden, Kaden, Kade, and Gavin are all names i have heard a lot lately. Chase is pretty common around here as well.

We went for family names mostly. Asa (my 3 year old's middle name) was my dh's paternal grandfather's middle name. Clayton Jack is a combination of family names.

My sister named her son Bennett.  I really like that name also.  

Good luck. Boys names are very hard. Not as many to choose from and if you try to be too different, it comes off seeming like you tried too hard.  

I named my son Jacob Nolan.  When I fell in love with Jacob I hadn't realized how popular it had become.  Once I found out, it was too late because I had already fell in love with the name.

We almost didn't want to give him the middle name of Nolan because we liked it so much we wanted to save it for a second child. I'm hoping for a girl the second time around tho.

hey yeah i dont like the common names either i dont want my kids to go to school and be names michael 1 or to or jacob or matthew or anything they are way to common....i made my son's name up but have found a few people have it now but with a s not a j my sons name is Jhaquan.....im unsure of what im having yet but if its boy im considering Malakai......brogan....devontae......deyontae....dante....1 of those lol....and Nevaeh for a girl.....heaven backwards....but good luck lol.....hope that helped....i tried asking people but none have really jumped out at me yet
