Hello-We don't know if we're having a boy or girl, so we're working on names for both.
If we have a boy, my dh's familyBirth control and family planning Choosing a primary care provider Ewing’s sarcoma Family troubles - resources tradition is that he will be named John. My dh is John, his dad is John (but commonly called Jack), his grandfather was John, etc. But, to add further confusionConfusion Delirium, my brother is also John. The real kicker is that my dh doesn't even particularly care for the name himself!!!! In any case, a boy will be named John...and we want his nickname to be Jake. Any suggestions for a middle name? We thought about John Jacob...OK, start singing the song "jingleheimerschmidt...!" And therein lies the problem with that name! John Jake just doesn't sound right to me. Thought about a middle name starting with a K...then his initials would be J.K....Jake. Get it?
We never solidified this with our dd five years ago, either. We just thanked God she came out as a girl so we didn't have to worry about the middle name after the birth. Of course, my dh was convinced she was a girl, and he is now convinced this one is a boy, so we've gotta find something.
I'm looking at using the middle name Kellen for a girl, but I have heard it is widely used as a boys name as well. Other K names I can think of are Kevin, Keith, Kendrick, Kristopher... I think John Kendrick sounds pretty nice...
what about John for a middle name. My DH is John the second so when we had a boy he wanted to name it John III I was not ok with that as i dont like the name and we were not in agreement that none or our boys would be named John. Our sons name is Logan (i won)
I had a co-worker who just had this just happen to them also--they ended up using the generation name for the middle name--did not want any more mix ups with credit bureau info--so they decided on using James as the middle insted of the 4th. Went with Quinton---
Could you name him Jonathon Jacob? It'd still be "John"....just extended! :) And you could call him Jake that way. At my daycare we have a Christian, his dad is Christopher and grandpa is just Chris.
where in the UK are you? I hope you haven't been affected by the flooding. We've escaped here in the W.Mids. I also have a Morgan, mine is a daughter though- she'll be 12 in a couple of months (making me feel old!!!)
Thanks for your advice everyone. Using John as the middle name just isn't an option if we don't want to be hearing about it for the rest of our days. We're thinking of changing it, though, to Jonathan as rubyolivia suggested.
