If we hadn't been thinking of trading our car in recently, it would be a master mess right now too.  Instead, it's all vacuumed out and all the junk is out of the glove box, side pockets, etc. because I thought the dealership would be looking it over with a critical eye.  Kind of like inviting your mother-in-law over to dinner -- you clean.  It looked so good (and the new version looked so much less like I thought it would be) that we kept it.  Time for a few crushed crackers in the upholstery again!

Perty: you can get some good deals on them on ebay even from the manufacturers.

I have never removed the covers of the current car seats we have but I have cleaned them with my carpet cleaner (using the tools!); they come up like new and I don't even have to take them out of the car!

Oh and our car looks like the inside of a goldfish cracker factory!

what kind of car are you thinking of getting?  i hate the hours of paperwork but love car shopping!    maybe i will just use the bissel on my seat too.

i was told that those covers are unsafe.   i guess i better check with the company and see if they sell covers that are safe :(

i have dirt in my car from dh thank you very much lol.  i keep hearing "ill clean it" but the poor guy works his butt off.  i guess i will go to red carpet and have it cleaned lol

I love those car-wash places where you hand over the car, watch it go through the washer, and then a bunch of workers jump in it with rags and spray and the vacuum cleaner and polish it all up.  We call the local one the "wave the rag" place because they wave their cleaning cloth in the air when they finish so you will come get it.  I know they do it better than I do, and it takes them about 1/4th of the time.

perty, we drive a Subaru Forester.  It would be too small for trips if we had more than one child, but it's good for us now, except as Augie is getting bigger, he could use more foot room.  We had read that the 2009s and 2010s have more back-seat room.  Unfortunately, after all that vacuuming and removing the junk, I went to take a test drive and felt like I was sitting in a flower pot with just my nose peeking out over the top rim.  They have put that car on testosterone!  It's all beefed up and at my height, I can't see the road in front of the car any closer than 30 feet.  I like to be able to SEE.  So we checked out all the cube cars at the auto show (most are too small, the Scion for example, and the Honda has odd doors and uncomfortable back seats) and looked at several of the crossovers (the ones that are a cross between a station wagon and an SUV) but found a disappointing number of them don't come with a stick shift.  So the good old Forester is looking better and better.  I came away from the experience feeling at least $18 grand richer, because I wasn't going to buy a new car.  It's not like the Subaru is falling apart.

anniebrook i loved the suberu tribeca!! but its too pricey for my $$ lol.  there are many cars out there that look great from the outside, but arent safe, gas efficient and higher on the ol pocketbook lol.   i bought a van and love it!! it can collect twice the amount of junk my ol suv could lol.   dh would love a truck, we have major yard overhaul in our future (bought a foreclosed home) so it would be great to keep dirt out of my car.  but dh works an hour away so gas is a big deal.

boy i could just talk to another grown up all day about anything at all! lol

:)  Tell me about it.  I went in for my pre-op appointment (turns out they are going to do a hysteroscopy, not a laparoscopy) and I talked the poor doctor's ear off.  It was just so nice to talk to another adult, and she had all the answers besides.

If we had a huge garage, we'd have a pick-up, a utility car that involves children such as the Forester or a van, a car for just me, and a car for just my husband.  Since his last car was bought on eBay, I feel we'd be able to get most of what we wanted, used, in pretty short order.  But I have an aversion to parking vehicles permanently out in the rain if I can help it (didn't mind when I was a student and the only parking was street parking, but we do have a garage now) and I am not fond of the insanely huge car-insurance bills that hit us in June and at Christmas.  All in all, pribably a good thing we don't have the big garage.  (I wouldn't be able to keep my impulsive hubby from going for it, no matter how many insurance bills I waved at him.)

Oh, a hysteroscopy is like a laparoscopy, but instead of poking around in the abdomen (but outside the uterus) with their camera and cutting tool, it goes into the uterus (via the cervix) with the camera and cutting tool.  I'm having some scar tissue removed that came from my miscarriage last year.  I'm hoping it will be a simple procedure.  When the doctor looked at a form for having an emergency blood transfusion and said I wouldn't need it, I told her that if I began to bleed uncontrollably, she should wake me up and have me sign the form.

If I had my way, I'd have a Plymouth Prowler and the big windblown hair to match.

haha!! i have the windblown hair naturally, its a curse

wake you up?  you tough cookie! lol    well im sure it sounds worse than it is.  when i had my last lap last spring, the dr was amazed at my adhesions in comparison to my pain level.  my bowels were wrapped around my left ovary (had pretty bad pain at ovulation time) and my bladder had adhesions that were pulling on my uterus.  the pics were gross but so cool!  my dr liked to show pics lol.  well after all that i felt fine and im so hoping you feel good too.

dh is gone, kids are still in bed, and im not going to wake anyone on purpose today!! lol  this is a great morning so far.  uh oh i hear addy  mama mama mama lol.
