c-section moms...

How many others have pain long after having a c-section??  My dd is 9 months old.  I healed fast but I still have lingering pain in the pelvic area after I exercise.  I can walk or jog fine but later on or the next day it feels like the pelvic bones down there are bruised.  It is difficult to rise from lying flat or to turn over in bed after I exercise, although once up I can walk and function fine.  I am wondering if it is from the nerves or abdominals being cut or something.  Does anyone else have similar problems?

I had my son 16 months ago, and I still get pain at/around my incision. The doctor told me that it is because the nerves are cut, and only part of the nerves grow back together.

i wouldn't call it pain for me...  just weakness i think.  after 4 c-sections it makes some exercises difficult to do.

I never had pain after my healing - It only took me about 5 weeks to heal and after about 10 weeks it was like I never even gave birth.  I credit my doctor because I honestly healed without pain meds.  I am scheduled for another C-section in June by a different doctor so I am praying and hoping I have the same experience.

I still get little pains in my incision area too.  It does happen after I exercise, it almost feels like period pains, or cramps.  My doctor says the same as cheyenne's that its just nerves.  I am still numb around the incision area, I have tingling feelings when I itch or shave.. it feels SOOO weird!  I hope they eventually heal back together.

wow you have all scared me - I had such a good c-section and my scar is barely even there.  it looks like a tiny red 3 inch line no numbness no itching nothing.  Now I am scared to do it again.

I also had a great experience. No pains after the first 3 months and my scar is barely even noticeable. My doc also did a great job!

cantwait-  don't be scared, lol!  my sections were all good experiences.  the only thing i feel now is numbness which is normal b/c of the nerves being cut and of course weakness there when i try to do abdominal exercises.  but the area will eventually become stronger if i keep working at it!  and my incision looks great, too!  i've been cut 4 times now and it looks like it did the first time.  i switched docs near the end of my last pregnancy b/c i knew it was going to be my last and my original doc closed w/ staples and i didn't want "railroad tracks" there for the rest of my life!  so i switched to another doc in the same practice who used tegaderm and it's healed awesome and its still below my bikini line.  and you know after having all my c-sections, my tatoo down there has never been touched once?!?!  :)
