Hi friends, im a man representing my wife. she has a fibriod it has grown so big that i become scared of her conciving,  even though i believe she can be heal through the power of God cos doctors take care but God heals. But the amazing thing is after the scan they said her womb is still open, that the fibriod has not cover her womb, and she sees her period frequently. surprisingly water keeps coming out of her private part regularly like a woman who is about to give birth (cos those are the sings). recently she felt sick with symptoms of pregnancy all over it, im a little bit confused right now i dont know what to do. cos someone told me that she can only be pregnant if the growth is cut off. pls advice me if is possible for her to conceived with the growth cos she is on herbal medication now thank you very much.

Why would you not want the surgery to remove the fibroid?  If the scan showed that she still has space in the uterus, that is good, but if it would be possible to remove the fibroid, that would be better.

I just checked some material on fibroids, and it says that generally a fibroid does not affect the ability to get pregnant or to have a normal pregnancy.  Only if it blocks a fallopian tube or is so large that it might cause a miscarriage due to lack of room would it be a problem.  That can be checked with ultrasound scans, and since your wife has had a scan, it sounds like the doctors do not think it is too big or in the wrong place.  The article also said that the usual way to deal with a fibroid is called "watchful waiting," and nothing needs to be done surgically unless it has gotten too large.  I sent you a private message with the material from the article, please see your inbox.

I had a fibroid removed after my first miscarriage-  actually 3 of them removed, one of which was the size of a softball....  I was advised on what annie told you, that you can get pregnant, but if they are big enough it can cause pre-term labor or miscarriages if the baby runs out of room to grow, and the fibroid will grow faster when she is pregnant-  a big reason mine was so large.  I had them removed 7 years ago now,  and I have since had 2 children....  when I had my second child, via c-section, my doctor found a couple fist sized fibroids that had grown during that pregnancy-  my son was just fine and not born pre-labor,  but I don't think they were there, or at least very large when I got pregnant-

good luck to you-  if she can, I'd have her have them removed.

hey Engr it depends on the fibroid size and where it is inside the reproductive organ....i found that i had fibroids(2small once)10 yrs ago and the doctor told me toremove them otherwise they will grow fast enough to cause a problem during pregnancy...but i was a fraid about the surgery (incase it damages my uterine wall) so i wanted to wait and see since i was around 24 years old...later i went for a checkup every year since i have issues with some other problemm and they always tell me they are growing...2 yrs ago when i wanted to conceive ..i prayed everyday that i wont miscarry...before i conceived i went for uls and they found 5 fibroids (2-6cm)and   then my doc adviced me if i should wait and get a surgery before get pregnant b/c chances are high until 4or 5 months during pregnancy they grow fast and start deteriorate after 4 or 5 motnhs so doc told me if i get pregnant i should not be excited until 4to 5 months so b/n back and forth i got pregnant unexpectdlly (i didn't know until 3monthd b/c have irregular period) and i was so worrid until 5 motnhs i thought i would miscarry ....however God is amzing i have no problem at all bleeding, pain or anything a normal size pregnancy ...but a little bit bigger stomach  but very very healthy the fibroids stayed where they are (only made me look bigger) no complications and an 8 lb healthy baby boy ..lol lol
so dont worry much ..if u realy want to go  for surgery that is okay...but absolutely she can conceive and carry ababy...so dont worry much...go for a second opinion before the surgery ..as my doc told me 10 years ago ..i should go for surgey before get pregnant ...10 years later got a baby and now the fibroids are shrunk ...the nice thing once she is done with the pregnancy they will shrunk ...so no more worries
post us.
good luck
remember things happen for a reason ..God has his own time to do evrything...so even if things look complicated today they will be smooth tommorow ...
