can implantation be heavy?

ok heres the deal, I am due for my period this upcoming saturday(12/6/2009), and my period came yesterday around 10am. (my bf and i had sex about around the time that i was ovulating).  it was light and bright red i used a tampon(bc i didnt have anything else and i didnt want to bleed thru my pants). By 3:30 that afternoon when i was able to use the bathroom again, my tampon was saturated. i put a pad in my underwear instead this time, later that night when i went back to the bathroom there wasnt as much blood as before but still pretty heavy. Well before i went to bed i changed it again. This morning when i got up there was very little blood! It was still bright red, but there was a little bit of light brown discharge too. I've been reading around a little bit and i guess that implantation bleeding can be heavy. But im just wondering if it could be implantation bleeding or an early period. I have mild cramps and i and become pretty tired out of no where. But, i have no other symptoms. If anyone could help that would be appreciated! Thank You!

I had implantation bleeding only once in all of my pregnancies...and it was very light, pink/red spotting (hardly bleeding really) a few days after ovulation. Then when I was supposed to get my expected period, I didn't and I tested positive on a pregnancy test a few days later. The rest of the pregnancies, I didn't have any implantation bleeding (spotting). If you think you might be pregnant you could wait until a week or so after your expected period date and test. I am guessing, based on your description, that it might have been an early period (which are sometimes lighter than a period that shows up on time). But, if you are unsure, do take a test. You can always have bleeding and be pregnant too (it is not really a period but bleeding due to the pregnancy).

I don't have a regular cycle but I predicted my af was due to start in another week. 2 days ago I started having light cramps, with just a little brown, then pink dishcharge. It only lasted one day then stopped. Now today I am having worse cramps and a heavier, red flow. Could any of this have been implantation?

Hi, I am havimg the same-7 days before my period is due-I had light spotting for 2 days, which continued in to a bleeding. That last allready 5 days alltogether, I am excausted, bloated and got really strong period pain. I am so scared, is this possible??? We were proactive during my ovulation so at the beginning I thought-it must be the implantation bleeding, but I ahev heard recently-if that's tru-you don't need to have strong period pain and cramps. I am taking strong medicine just to get relief from pain. So please-if you had implantation does it suppose to hurt? I will see my gyno in 5 days, I am so affraid what will happen till then, because I live allone at the moment.
