can you take clomid with pcos and get pregant

i am 47 i have pcos and i am newly married and we wont a baby and was wondering can i take clomid and become pregnant thanks for your help

Hi!
Yes, clomid is a wonder drug causing multiple ovulations, thereby increasing chances of pregnancy, and also multiple pregnancies. However, one should never take it without medical guidance. Clomid is given in PCOS—or in other words PCOS is not a contraindication for clomid, but in some cases of PCOS, clomid is not prescribed due to likely complications. Hence, please consult your gynecologist before starting it.
