car seat toys

Hey everyone,
anyone know of any car seat toys, you know, something that will attach so that its accessible? This is for the forward facing car seat, so there is no carry handle for somthing to attach to.
i am desperate! thank you!

The only thing I could suggest is something that hooks onto the back of the seat in front of him/her.  It is not much they could play with but maybe something fun with a mirror.  I have not heard of anything else for a forward facing car seat but if someone knows of something else let me know please.  I have a 14 month old that I would like to keep occupied in the car although he is pretty good in the car.  Good Luck with this.  Take Care

you know it just seems odd that there isnt more out there, especially since kids are in them longer these days (age wise). I was really surprised not to find anything. I feel bad that she is so bored, she just sleeps. I know i shouldnt complain, but too much sleep isnt good either, especially when you take a road trip (5 hours) to grandma's house.

Oh the road trips at that age are torture.  I have a 12 mo. old too!

I don't have any toys that clip on his carseat but I give him things to play with that I know he won't throw - like a old pair of sunglasses (he's obsessed with ours), or a blankie so he can play peek-a-boo with me in the rear-view mirror, or spare set of keys.  Anything that's different from his toys in the house.

The other thing that calms him down is to play a baby CD.  Anything classical and he'll "sing" to it, or if it's the CD that says his name he smiles and listens.

I'm sorry, I know that's not much help.  Try your best to be inventive.

you could try a pacifier clip...they clip on to your childs shirt and have a velcro closure at the end...you could attach a toy or two to that..HTH

Every so often I will see products like laptrays, but made of softer material, that will attach to the forward facing carseat. Try to make sure that whatever you give baby is soft, the last thing you want is a potential projectile in an auto accident. One of Tristan's favorite "car toys" is his Baby Tad. I keep it in the car, so when we drive somewhere, it is "new" to him : )

I believe One Step Ahead has some great products, including toys for road trips.

It can be a little spendy, but we bought a dual screen dvd player for our latest road trip (6 hours) and played kids movies for the boys and it was wonderful!!

I have a 15 month old son and I use to bring all kinds of toys with us but everything goes on to the floor or the seat next to him and I can't get to them to give him is toys.  So at Babies r Us you can find car seat attachments.  they strap to the side of all car seats they are great.  go to babiesrus.com and search under car seat attachments.  good luck

what about linkadoos from Fisher Price. You could probably find somewhere to hook those.

There is also a really cool toy that drapes over the back of the front seats in this month's American Baby magazine. If you don't get that one, you might try looking at it online. I'm going to get it for Conner when he is old enough.
