I am 22 weeks pregnat and i have a cervical cerclage....i went for my checkup today and the doctor told me my cervix was starting to open is it dangerous

Your doctor should have given you more information or advice. Maybe you would like a 2nd opinion?
The people i know who have had this so early in pregnancy have been told to get bed rest. And Usually the cervix has returned to normal (closed and high). An open cervix can lead to infection, and if it continues to open, a possible early labour.

If it were me I'd be seeking more info from a professional. Good luck.

i wonder if he meant on the inside or on the outside??

I have a cerclage in and my cervix is completely open on the inside until it gets to the cerclage and then it is shut.. my cervix is very short and measuring about .9 cm lately.. normal cervixal length is between 3 and 4 cm...

I have been on strict bed rest ever since I had my cerclage put in at 18wks..

Typically if it is opening on the inside they will say it is funnelling, shortening or effacing.. if it is opening on the outside typically they will say it is dilating..

Also did he physically check your cervix with his hand or use an ultrasound?? If he used an ultrasound he probably meant it was funnelling on the inside..

Neither is good, but on the inside is much better than the outside.. if you are dilating then your cerclage is failing and that is very serious..  

I would call you dr back and get the whole story
