choroid plexus cyst

I recently had my 20 week ultrasound and found out I am having a boy! It was really exciting. I have had miscarriages in the past and had a cervical cerclage placed this time at 12 weeks. Everything has been great no bed rest or any problems at all! At my appointment my Dr. said there is a small choroid plexus cyst on my babies brain. He don't seem to think I have anything to worry about, but its stressing me out! I am wondering if there are any other pregnant woman out there who are experiencing this. I am 21 weeks along, Due June 23rd!

Yes, my last daughter had one on her brain also. She is a perfectly fine 7 year old now (: There is a very, very small increased risk of Trisomy 18 or 21, but it is so small that they don't worry about it. We had a level 2 U/S to make sure and she was fine. 1-2% of all pregnancies have this finding and they don't even know why they are there, but they are mostly a small sac filled with spinal fluid and they are usually gone by birth. They believe now that they are just another regular part of development for some fetuses. I'm sure your son will be healthy and beautiful, I could bet lots of money on it!

I am 21 weeks today. My daughter also has a choroid plexus cyst that was found at my 18 week U/S. I worried for a while until I did my research. I am having a follow-up U/S next Friday. The dr. said they should decrease in size and will probably be gone by delivery. I have a feeling she is very healthy because I feel her move around often. Try to keep a positive attitude. It has made me feel better.

one of our boys had these, they went away by about 30 weeks.

I too was told at my 18 week u/s thatmy little one had one on her right side and at a level 3 u/s was done at 28 weeks and it was gone. If u research on google they disappear before ur 28 weeks I too stressed and cried and my little one is fine she is now 2 weeks old.don't stress too much it's not healthy for u or baby.
