I called my doctor because I have really bad allergies and he suggested that claitin is safeSafe driving for teens Safe sex for pregnancy...but there are different types of it...I am asuming that the original strength is what he meant

For a time the Dr. had me on Claritan D. I am now switched to Zyrtech because I do not need the decongestant anymore and Zyrtech helps me more than Claritan. Both meds are on what they call the B list. A list, you cannot take. B list is okay and C list is even better.
Claritin is a category B. In response to another comment however, Category A is the safest with B usually being safe as well. Category C or below is generally considered risky and you should discuss with your physician wether the benefit outweighs the risks.
