clomid for 6 months is it ok??

dear girls as u all know i have been ttc for 2 yrs without any success doc put me 50mg of clomid 2ndtill 6th day of cycle this is my 3rd month of clomid first 2 months nothing happend just finished my 3 month doze 2 days a go.My prob is my doc gave me 3 more month dose he said my test shows i m ovulating with 50mg of clomid its a good sign if i ll not get pregnant i should use clomid for more 3 month that will be 6 months altogether n it seems too much to me b/c clomid do have side effects my periods are like just 3 or 4 drops after using clomid i also heard it also create a cycst in ur overay i m really scared to use it for more 6 month is there any body on this forum who use clomid for 6 months n get pregnant ?? plzz share ur stories with me.i m also planning to use preeseed .last month i used it onvly during ovulation period but now i m planning to use it every time we will have sex . i m in 2 minds should i use preee seed or not ? or let it gi natural way?? i m really really stressed n confused girls plzz help me :(((

I was also on clomid and was lucky enough to fall pg during my second cycle.  Now not all Dr are the same, mine said that I would be on it of 3 months at 50g if nothing happened then the 4 month I had to be off it (rest month), then my dose would go up to 100g for another 3 months and 4 rest month again, if still nothing then she would put me up to 150g for 3 months.  If still nothing then she said we would have to look at other treatments.  My point is that there seems to be no worry about being on it for a long time.  However you must also remember that clomid does not completely leave your system, which means that even if you are only on 50g every month there is always a little left over from last month which means that it is always collectivly more than 50g.  Good luck and lots of baby dust.

Hi I am also on clomid (50mg 5-9day) for the 4 cycles w/o any success. My gyno has suggested to go for 2 more cycles. If nothing happens then, have to look at other options.
It is really frustrating..I got my period today..sitting here at work having my lunch and I feel like crying loud...

I have been on clomid for 1 year and a month.  I was diagnosed with Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome.  My doctor never told me that the clomid might cause my cists to come back.  (I have surgery last march to remove the cysts)  I was fortunate enough to lock onto my doctor.  He took me in when I had only been trying for 3 months but I also had extremely irregular periods.  I am not pregnant.  Clomid has different effects on everyone.  It has my period more regular but has thinned the lining of my uterus.  Thats why we went down on my dosage.  Nothing happened so now we are going back up.  I don't have light periods, but I never have.

I have just started my 3rd round of Clomid.  If I'm not pg this month, I am going to a different doctor.  My current doc wants me to stay on Clomid for 6 months before trying something new...and I'm just not quite that patient!  After TTC for almost two years now, I'm ready to all that I can in order not to waste any more time.

Another fertility clinic in town is much more advanced and will let their patients take more advanced measures (with the understanding that the patient knows it increases the chances of multiple births, of course).

I say, if you are tired of Clomid, find a fertility clinic that will be as proactive as you like!
