conceiving before ovualte???

conceiving before ovualte???

Hi guys,

I know I keep touching on the same subject, but I wanted to make sure of something else again. A couple of you have been gracious in replying to my posts, but I have another question.  I had a miscarriage a couple of weeks ago, and I have read you can get pregnant before my first period comes.  My question is, sorry if it is a stupid one, but can you get pregnant before you begin ovulating?  Or, I thought you had to be ovulating to get pregnant.  Some women on this site have told me they became pregnant 3 weeks after they miscarried, before they got their first period.  So, do I need to be ovulating before I can get pregnant again.  I think I understand that I don't have to get my first period to get pregnant, but I do need to ovulate first???  Do I just use those ovulation tests since I will be trying before my first period comes?  Sorry to ask so many questions. Thank you all for replying and your words of advice.

Maybe I can help, after a mc you ovulate before af comes, af will come approx 14 days after you ovulate. It's like the chicken and egg thing. The egg comes 1st. If you chart, mc counts as day 1. You absolutely have to ovulate to conceive. These women who got pg after mc did ovulate. I o'd 16-18 days after my mc, then af 14 days later.

You usually ovulate 2 weeks BEFORE you have your period so that is why you can get pregnant before having your AF (I did). But yes, you need to ovulate to get pregnant. I hope this make sense.

what can happen is you can have sex a few days prior to o'ing. the sperm can live inside the womans body for a few days and if they are there when the egg is released, whamo. ovulation is when the egg is released from its follicle in the ovary. (sorry if i dont spell everything correctly). the egg only viable for a day (estimated) and it will either not be fertilized and desinigrate, or will be fertilized by sperm. so there isnt a way to become pg without the egg and the sperm. some people are very accurate in the ovulation dept. i mean they o at the textbook times. others will o early, late, maybe a few during their period. there are many excellent sites you can google and find the numbers more accurate that you are looking for. i hope i helped answer this question for you.

im sorry i didnt relate this to mc. but it goes the same. you can consider your mc as day one of your cycle. (typically day one is the day you START your af). yes you can o before you have your first af after. like tina said it usually occurs 14 days before you start. so if you  have a "typical" 28 day cycle, you would start on day 14. if you have a 34 day cycle you would count 14 days back and start on day 20. i have been told you become more fertile after a mc, but im not sure what that means. maybe it means you are more likely to O after if you didnt on a regular basis?? i dont know. maybe someone can answer that.

So when can i .. bd during period or after?
Thanks

pea its not a high possibility that you will o during your af, just can happen. when you start your period consider that day one of your cycle. it goes until you start your period again, the day before would be the ending day to how long your cycle is. typically (i say that because we are not usually typical) 14 days before you start your af again, you should start to get ewcm. egg white cervical mucus. not everyone gets it or has an abundance. you know it because (sorry this is going to sound gross lol) a discharge of mucus that resembles an egg white. very thick and can stretch between fingers an inch to 10 inches!! kinda snotty looking. that ususally shows up 1-5 days before you o. at that time you need to get to bed hehe and that should increase your chances of the sperm being in there when the egg is released. however my midwife told me to bd every other day from when my af is done till it starts again (who can be that olympic!!!) i know when i o or about to i get pain in my ovary, ewcm, moody, the whole "pms" type thing. a great website that you can check out is called webwomb. they have lots of info. i hope this clears some of my confusion up.

You won't ovulate while having AF, the whole point of AF is because there's been a egg and it hasn't been fertilized and is being gotton rid of.

I got pregnant staight after a m/c, i had a natural m/c so i bled and got rid of everything myself, so basically it's really hard to chart a cycle straight after a m/c as things can be a little out of wack and doctors recommend waiting for at least 1 cycle before starting again.

On a normal 28 day cycle, you get af, it takes usually the 14 days to mature and release the egg, and if unfertilized will get af 14 days after O.

Thanks for replying--I am just trying to figure out if I m/c on Jan 29th--the first day--when would I ovulate.  I bought ovulation tests--but I feel like we shoudl try every night since I don't quite know where things stand with my body.  I pray I become pregnant again soon--the loss was so devastating and I just want the joy back of being pregnant with our baby.  I appreciate everyone trying to explain it to me--this whole situation has made me lose some of my thinking skills :) so, thanks again

there are one or two on here that did concieve (conceive) during af. no its not typical. but it can happen. i doubt it is going to happen, but its not impossible. anyway...use your bodies signs as in mucus, use an opk to see when you o, and know that there is the norm and there is out of the norm. if you mc'd on jan 29th then if you were back to a regular schedule, you should have o'd already. sometimes it takes a bit to get back to regular after a mc. i had 35 day cycles, then i went down a day everymonth after mc to a 31 day cycle and now back to a 32 day. go figure!
