concerned about size

i had an ob appt yesterday and doc told me i was only measuring at 25 weeks when i should be at 29. also, it has been three weeks since my last appt and i have lost 7 pounds. i still feel her moving and everything but all this has me worried. up until now her heartbeat has always been in the 150's and yesterday it was only in the 130's. he said come back in two weeks and if its not improved i have to do another ultrasound. also i did my glucose tolerance test and they said anything over 140 was bad and mine was 150 so i have to go do the diabetes testing. all this news at once has me pretty freake out. any insight out there? i would really appreciate it. the nurse also mentioned something about white blood cells in my urine... what's that supposed to mean?

Maybe your due date is wrong.??? Measuring 2-3 weeks more or less is normal so if you are off by a week or so then you would be fine. About the rest I don't know. Good luck to you.

i had wondered before if my due date might have been off but i had an ultrasound on december17th and march 20th and both said july 30th. i've been trying to read up and see what all could be going on but the possibilities are endless! just wondering if any other women had gone through this or heard of this and what was going on.

I've heard that dates can be off by a couple weeks since babies develop at their own rate. Whether or not it can be as big a gap as 4 weeks I'm not sure. Also the heartbeat doesn't mean anything and it seems like it gets slower as the baby gets older. The first time I heard the heartbeat it was in the 170's... then next time it was in the 150-160's and stayed like that the majority of the pregnancy and then at about 30 weeks it was in the 140's-150's and when I delivered it was at about 120-130. Also babies heart rates depend on what they are doing. If they are playing or awake it is usually higher where as if they are sleeping or resting it is usually lower.

It's hard to get news like that, and especially if it's your first baby.  I lost weight and only gained a a few pounds over my prepregnancy weight overall both times.  I measured about a week ahead with my first, but had lots of fluid, and he was breech and over 10 lbs..  With my second one I was either right on, or plus or minus 1 week.  He was induced early and was still just under 9 lbs.  I wouldn't stress about it, baby could be sitting differently or may just be small.  Let your Dr. watch out for you.  My little ones had their hb's vary and they will when they are sleeping, or moving...Mine went lower each time and then stayed around 130.  I also failed the glucose test with my first baby, and had to do the 3 hr test.  I passed with flying colors.  Don't stress, relax and follow your Dr.'s instructions, they will take good care of you and baby.  If htey want to give you a little more time, then at least it's not an immediate concern.  Good luck, you will be okay, let us know how it goes.

My baby measured 3 weeks behind in her fundal measurements, but when I did the u/s she measured just under a week behind.  She was born at 38w2days by C-section.. she weighed in at 5lbs12ozs and was 17 inches long.  I think she could have baked a little longer, but she was breech.  The way your baby is positioned can cause the measurements to be off.  Try not to worry too much at this point.  They should schedule and u/s if you continue to measure up to that many weeks behind.. atleast that is what my Dr. did for me.

I passed the glucose test, but my sister had gestational diabetes, she just took insulin shots daily and everything worked out fine for her.  Usually baby's born to women with gestational diabetes have large babies.  You really should start watching your diet now.

My baby's heart rate varied too.

Thank you all very much. the three hour test turned out just fine, other than being boring. no gestational diabetes. and i go back in a few days for another ob appt to see how she's doin size wise. she is getting stronger everyday i think, it has helped to releive the worries.
