confusion on CD1

Ok, so my husband and I are TTC after a mc in August. This month will be our second attmept. I've started to try and monitor things like CM, I'm using OPK and this is where my confusion starts.
I thought I had read in several places that CD1 is the first day of bleeding, regardless of whether it is spotting or flow. However, I've recently started using fertilityfriend.com, and IT says that CD1 is the first day of red flow, NOT spotting. So which is it? Normally it would be the same day for me, but since the MC I've usually had a day or two of spotting or brownish discharge before actual flow. Depnding on which date I use, I'm either on CD 13 or 15. I haven't seen a positive OPK yet, so I was starting to worry if it is CD15. HELP!!

My fertility dr. counts cycle day 1 as the first day of full flow.  It must be before 5pm that full flow begins.  After 5pm he considers the next day to be cycle day 1.  I think that's just how he does it, because I've never heard of it being counted by the hours, but I guess he has his methods.

He starts me on OPK around cycle day 7 or 9.  I ovulate really late.

cd1 is the first day of full flow, spotting doesn't count.  I'm not sure about hour of the day, but I guess to err on the side of caution, anything late in the day could be counted as the next day being day 1.
