cramps in left side

I know I may be overly worried, but I am having a cramping in my left side that seems to linger for a few hours at a time.  At first I was freakin out b/c I swore I must have appendicitis, but then I found out that that pain would be on the right side.  I think maybe it is ligament pain.  It is right under my rib cage, it feels like a cramp you get in your side when you are running.  Does this sound like ligament  pain, or does everyone just think I am turning into a hypochondriac since I have become pregnant???

How far along are you?  I always though ligament pain was in your lower stomach.

I know what you mean, but it does sound like the round ligament pain associated with strecthing. I had it real bad yesterday too, very achy and today I am ok.  Drink more water, it helps.

I am also 18 weeks and have had the same pain it goes from side to side.  On Friday I had one sharp pain that doubled me over and then those pains lingered.  The doctor said they are Round Ligament pains that are very normal at this state in pregnancy and the pain I am feeling even when sitting still (kind of like a pulling very light cramp type feeling) is actually the ligament contracting.  She said not to worry and if the pain is bad to put low heat on it.  This has been happening since Friday.
