I don't think you are still pregnant.  I found this site that might better help you understand what takes place during this procedure.

I am very sorry for your loss.

It takes a couple weeks for your HCG levels to return to a "non-pregnant" level you'll continue to have symptoms until they go down. It took 4 weeks for me to not come up positive on a pregnancy test after my miscarriage. I'm sorry that you're going threw this I'll keep you in my prayers.

Hi there, I am so sorry to hear about your d and c.  I have read it takes 4-6 weeks for Hcg levels to go down.

I wonder if you could tell me how they determined your molar pregnancy?  My Hcg level is 5400 and I am unsure how far along I am b/c I ovulate irregularly, as early as 4 weeks or as far along as 6 weeks.  I had an ultrasound Thursday and they found the one gestational sac but no embrio.  It's either too early to see the embrio (4 weeks) or it's molar (6 weeks).  I am in limbo right now while they try and figure out if I have molar...we have to wait for progression before another ultrasound.  This waiting is torture.  Any advice?

It took my levels over 6 weeks to get down to 0. I still had pregnancy symptoms for most of that time. Mine was a complete molar so my levels were extremely high.

At 7 weeks the sono looked normal except they told me I was earlier than I thought. They couldn't see a fetus or heartbeat. Then at 10 weeks I had a followup sono and the uterus was  filled with growths just like what you read about when you read about molars. I had a dnc the next day.

I have had 5 healthy children since my molar pregancy.

I am sorry for those of you going through this.

Thanks so much for your feeback.  Wow, you had to wait 3 weeks for your next sonogram.....that's some torture too.  How encouraging that you have had 5 since then, that's fantastic!  Is it true you must wait 1 year before trying again if mine is a complete molar?

I think they say its hard on your body to be pg more than once a year. however i have known people to get pg right after a d&c and have healthy babies. With this said, i know nothin about "molar pg"

I had to wait 1 year from the time my levels reached 0. So I had to wait about a year and 2 months. I got pregnant the first month they gave me the go ahead to try again. I think it is pretty important to follow the rules on this especially with a complete molar. I know someone who didn't and wasn't told to wait a whole year and it repeated itself a second time. It grew along with a baby the second time and ended up causing a miscarriage in the 5th month.

It was really hard to wait a year, but I am glad I waited. They checked my blood weekly and then monthly until the end of the year. They then followed my hcg's through my next pregnancy until the hcg dropped at around 16 weeks. Then they knew it was a normal pregnancy. (I guess if there was any molar cells left the hcg would continue to rise and not drop like it should)
