Hi everyone! I am new to this site and it seems great. I have a question. On 4/17 i had my 2nd checkup and had a s/g b/c i had been spotting brown stuff for 3 days. I was 10w5d when they did the s/g. There was nothing there but the sac and stuff. I had a s/g when i was 6w 1d and saw the little butter bean they said was the baby and we heard the heart beat. My dr said that the sack measured at 8 1/2w. she said the baby just stopped growing. So I had a d & c on the tues 4/18 and did really good till sat. and then i started to hurt. I went back to the dr on tue. to see what was going on and they did a u/s and i still have fluid and stuff in my uteris, they checked my hcg levels and put me on this med. till today to make my uteris contract and try & pass the rest of the stuff out. On thur. i had to go back and let her check my hcg again, and see how i was on the med. and she said when she did the d&c i had so much stuff that she got all she could out with out being too aggresive (aggressive) so it would not chance leaving scar tissue in my uteris. she didn't leave much and normally u bleed and pass the little bit left but i have not. On mon i go back to have a s/g  and if the med. has not got it out then she will have to do another d&c & get it out. Has anyone everyhad this happen. This was my 1st m/c. Thanks!!!

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I had never heard that even after a d&c there could be tissue left. What a bummer for you! I I've had 3 m/c so I know what you're going through honey. Take care of yourself.

So sorry to hear what you're going through. A friend of mine had a similar experience as yours - She had a d&c for a m/c at 12 weeks. About 1 week after the D&C she was still bleeding heavily... they followed up with an u/s and it showed retained products (there is always a chance of this with any d&c as it's basically a "blind sweep"). She had to have a 2nd d&c. She is doing well now. Her period arrived 4-6 weeks after her 2nd ultrasound. I had a d&c april 12th... and a few days following the d&c i started to experience very painful "contractions". I saw my doctor and she said I likely had some retained products... she did not give me the pill to help me contract, as I was doing it enough on my own. But said if it continued for another day... or the heavy bldg continued, they were going to follow up with an ultrasound to check for retained products. Thankfully it all stopped. I wish you a speedy recovery... relax and get your rest. Just take time for yourself...
