dark belly hair? Open Fourm

dark belly hair? Open Fourm

I am 11w2d and I have had some dark hair showing up on my tummy since about week 7 or so.  It keeps getting darker and thicker.  It looks nasty.  I have dark black hair but my tummy has always had white fuzz on it.  Is this a pregnancy thing?  I have a 5 year old DD and I did not have dark hair with her.  Will this go away when I have it?  I feel like a man with hair around my belly button!!!

yes, it is absolutely a pregnancy thing! not everyone gets it, but is very common. i always had hair on my stomach too, but like you, it was light in color. i have since gotten that dark hair under my belly button and it is not attrative. i'm hoping it goes away also, but i don't know for sure. all i know is, i'm not touching it, cus i dont want it to keep growing back! i did hear from someone though, that a cause of the extra dark hair may be the pre-natal vitamins that we take. who knows!

I have this too.  I have blonde hair but unfortunately I now have dark hair on my tum!  I am not happy about it as I find it embarrassing, even if my doctor and husband are the only ones to see it.  Fortunately, my husband has been smart enough to not act grossed out by it.  I don't think it actually bothers him as I made a comment about it when my Mom visited and I let her feel the baby move.  She has a way of sharing everything with my sisters and I didn't want her telling them I have a hairy stomach so I made sure she understood it was from pregnancy.  My husband just looked at me like I was crazy.
So I don't think he's even noticed that much, though I don't see how that is possible!  We have so many things that change with our bodies, can't we leave the hair thing out of it?  Heh!
