I had initially registered for one with our first child, but heard from a number of moms that they don't work so well...they basically make a giant stinky "sausage" of dirty diapers...instead we bought a small flip-top garbage can, the size to fit plastic bags from the grocery store, and replace the bag every night. Higher maintenance but less smelly. Different things work for different people, though.

I heard the diaper dekor is good.  I have the champ and it's just ok.

I have heard both good and bad on the Genies.  I also have the Champ.  I like it until it gets too full and you can't flip the diaper into the pail.  I have not had odor until I have opened it and even then it is not bad.  Thank God for Breastfed poopies.  I don't want to start solids until he can go on the potty and wipe himself.  If I have to breastfeed until he is 5 o well.  LOL!!!!!!  That is just sick and wrong.  Have fun pail shopping.

thank you for the comments. I guess the Champ is the one to get. I have been doing the small trash can idea, but I am getting lazy about taking it out everyday. Since she is being breastfed, its not as bad as it could be.
thank you again

I had a diaper genie and hated it. It just left the whole room stinky :(

I had a Diaper Genie 11 yrs. ago w/ my son and didn't care for it.

Now, I have the Diaper Dekor and absolutely love it.  You just step on the little pedal at the bottom and the lid pops up and you just drop the diaper through these flaps that shut after the diaper falls through.  When the can is full it's very easy to empty.  I'd definitely get one; there's no odor at all.

I haven't been on in a long time.  I see there's a ton of new people here.  Hopefully everyone's doing great.  I have a precious little boy, Ty.  He'll be 4 months on the 15th.  He's the spitting image of my 11 year old son.  We're all having so much fun with him.

I love my diaper genies. I wasted the money on a Safety 1st one and hated it, but love the diaper genies. If used right, they are wonderful.

Hey, I just got a diaper Genie, but after looking at how expensive the refills were and trying to work it, I took it back and got a Safety First. It is much easier to work and you can just use regular trash bags and it does not smell either. I just did not want to be making trips to Walmart the refills.

Let us know what you decide.

so, maybe the Dekor is the one to get, huh? sorry been awhile since I got back on here.
Hey Silo, long time since I had seen you on here. Has your little one reached any new milestones? Mine just started rolling over from her tummy to her back and she wasnt even surprised about it when she did it the first time. She acted like "wow, finally!" LOL. Has the doc mentioned to you about cereal or solids yet? DH says we should be doing cereal, but the doc says not till 6 months....
