diaper sizing....

diaper sizing....

so aubree has been in 3's for a while now.. and she is 23lbsand 31 1/2 inches long...... on the box it says up to 26lbs but at night aubree always overflows her diapy.. i have tried the huggies ovenight and they leak as well ( they dont fit her legs right) should i maybe go up a size just at night? like buy 4's for at night time and 3s during the day? and what size diapers does your child wear and how many lbs do they weigh? im just trying to figure a rough estimate...

I haven't been buying the diapers lately so I'm not too positive on the sizing...We tend to do that though buy one size for night once they start to overflow, or even try a different brand. My son had that problem where all of a sudden he was soaking through a certain brand of diapers and we switched and had no issues. Good Luck!

Allie has been in 5's for 8-10 months!!!! She only weighs 23lbs and 32 1/2inches. She has a BIG butt!!! lol She would over flow as well. That's why we kept going up in size. She never over flows now, and no the diapers are not super huge on her either, surprisingly.

Brayden (11 months) at his last appointment (10 months) weighed 18 lbs 12oz and he wears size 4. He doesn't leak through at night, but that could be because he doesn't have a bottle "right" before he goes to bed. Rather he has one an hour to an hour and a half before he goes to bed. He goes to bed around 9:30 pm and sleeps through the night til 8:30 to 9 am. But during the day I have noticed that he fills hid diaper pretty quickly. One thing I have seen people say that they do is insert an extra large pad (womens pad I assume) in the diaper during nights only.

nolan has been in 4s for months now!  (he has a big butt, too...lol)  he overflows often recently while sleeping so our next box will be size 5s.  i don't even pay attention to the weight and height on the boxes... i just started w/ the newborn size and switched when i felt it was time.

Well - thankfully Abby is built small like her Daddy and isn't an Amazon like her Mommy - she is 21 pounds and 29 inches - she's a wee thing - lol - and I've had her in size fours since Christmas - they just seem to fit her a little bit better - especially between the legs and she seems to be able to move easier in them - she hasn't wet through a diaper completely at night for months and months now and she does have a bedtime bottle - we use the regular Huggies - although I do prefer the Natural Fit Huggies - but they are the same price as the regular and you get about 25 less to a bag

I actually don't even really go by the weights listed on the outside of the package.  I usually move up in size when they start to leak a lot or have blow outs.  It couldn't hurt to try the next size up just to see if that helps.  My dd is almost 20 months old, but she has been in size 5's since well before a year old.

My son in wearing size 4 and isn't even up to that weight yet.  I changed him from 3 to 4 because at night they would leak through.  In the past that is how I always knew it was time to switch to the next size, but he was always in the weight range for whatever size that was.  (if that makes sense)...  Right now he is like 21lbs and minimum weight for the size 4 is 22lb, I think....  So technically they are too big for him, but he has been wearing them for a while and they work for us.

ok it sounds like Aubree and AJ are the same size.  it has just been the last few weeks that at night he can not handle the diaper...or the diaper can not handle him.  I just bought the 4s today.  Hopefully that will help.  I know that is when I knew it was time to go to 3s and it worked well then.  Hopefully it works again.  the last two night it must have been really uncomfortable for him because he has been waking up an hour late and with no diaper or pants on.  I have to assume he wakes up and it takes him some time to take care of this, then he goes back to sleep.  Cute...but messy!
