dont understand long time between periods?

what is the deal with long times between periods? ff.com said i ovulated on 20 buut i should have o on 4 or 5 because my last af was dec. 17 - 23. dang im new at this charting and watching thing

its all crazy.. one day you think you know yourself and the next day your body throws you one!!  I went off bc pills in may last year.  I had regular and normal cycles 28 days.  In october i was supposed to get my af on the 9th and i didnt get it until the 23.  well let me tell you how many hpt i wasted that month!! it turns out i ovulated later than normal  You just have to pay attention to your body! Lucky for me i get the "cramp" when i ovulate.  My older sister does too so when we are "o"ing we cluck.  haha get it? laying an egg??  Good luck to you, i hope you figure it all out soon.. it is very frustrating

I have been buying hpt and even got a blood test last week.  My last af was Dec. 13 and I was on a 28 day cycle and was suppose to come on Jan 10th.  To this day  have not came on and I don't know what is gong on either.  It's Jan. 23. I am wasting money on hpt and am going a little crazy.  Yea, the body has a mind of it's own I guess.  I went off the pills in Sept. and had been having regular cycles since. So this has been the lonest time between my periods.

What if I ovulated late and got pregnant then.  When would I ever find out!

Wow - we almost have the same nickname... And are in a similar boat. Last AF was 12/10/05, as of today 1/23 it has been 45 days. Both Urine and Blood test came back negative. Went to the doc's and they think I am overeacting, could be stress they tell me. Or, just missed a cycle this month. They were not much help at all and I'm still without answers. Hope all works out for you.

Hey Ladies! I know exactly waht you are dealing with. If any of you are charting your tempetures you should see a pattern that is constant and uneventful meaning you are in the midst of an annovulatory cycle.
Picture this, I thought sure that I was pregnant late Nov. early Dec. because my cycles were 34 to 35 days. Because I was so frustrated and not paying attention to my pattern (key word) I spent unnecessary money on HPTs. My last period was Nov. 4, 2005. I did not have any temp pattern changes until Dec. 19, 2005. which was a temp. dip symbolizing the start of ovulation. For me this was the first ovulation off Depo so things were confusing. I only know this information in hindsight because that was the very day I got pregnant!Which is a wonderful blessing but I always picture myself planning my pregnancy, not just being able to detect it early.
To make a long story short if you are not having any signs of AF or are still having vaginal discharge with no spotting chances are you are experiencing an anovulatory cycle. However, you could be pregnant if you have spotting (light brown or pinkish)following symptoms of AF but AF is a no show.Evaluate stress in your life such as moving, worrying, financial difficult, anxiety about conception. These all can delay your cycle. Even a trip out of town.  Anovulatory cycles are normal once or twice in a year or so. Don't worry unless this happens alot. Hope this help.

I am having the same problem. My last period was Dec. 21st. My period was due Jan 18th. I've been off the pill before and never missed a period. I'm 28 days like clockwork. This month, hubby and I BD a lot and we didn't use protection. (Stopped the pill in december). I took an HPT before my period was due, negative. I took one this morning but i found out it wasn't a very sensitive test and i think it was defective. it was an ept +/- and it showed a - with a space in b/t almost like where the - should be for the positve but nothing. I guess it was defective. I will try to test tomorrow in the morning. Any ideas????

How did your doc know it was a cyst? I also had a DNC and have had strange cycles since.

I have had all the symptoms of starting AF.... Still to this day, now 46 days. Guess we will wait and see.

I have also been going through ept's like water due to no AF, I am usually 24-26 days, I had all the symptoms around that time (everything but not my usual sore boobs), but no AF.  All my epts were neg, now at day 38, and dr has me on 10 days provera to get me  'kick started', I guess it's related to a cyst which I got a cycle after a D and C from m/c, never had any probs before - v. frustrating.

did you have cramps like af was gonna show? i had cramps and thought for sure af was coming. even went and bought tampons. had cramping on and off all month long.

You think you have it bad try beein gon cycle day 77 and stil having af symptoms but no positive test. I am afraid to go to the dr. to find out that there is something seriously wrong with me. I am gonna give in a go this weekend. I want a baby so bad. Got any auggestions. Anyone been this late to get positive test. Feeling sorry for myself today , house was broken into yesterday. bummer.

Good evening all. I am ALSO going through the same thing. It is VERY frustraiting. What to do. I have waisted soooo much money on HPT's and all negative. The only other time i had this occur was when I had EP. SO do I wait till I have horrible pain from EP or go to a dr. to seek advice? Please asst. I am getting frustrated

Good day, im ALSO going through the same thing. my last period was May 14th -20th and i hvent had one sence. i know im  not pregnet. Should i go see a doctor? do you think im just over reacting?? I need HELP! Thanks a ton!
