ectopic pregnancy

by kayerin, Mar 08, 2005 12:00AM
I had an ectopic three years ago and since have 2 daughters.  I am pregnant with #3 and am afraid I am having an ectopic.
My first hcg levels were 51..that was tuesday, thursday they were 103 and on Monday they were 414.  My progesterone on Monday was 19.5.  The Dr said it is too early to do a ultra sound.  My question is...am I to assume I am not having an ectopic because my Beta's are doubling?

I hope this does not sound rude but you CANNOT worry about it.  I know it is hard seeing your history.  If it is meant to be it will happen.  I know when I had a m/c a year and a half ago I was terrified when I got pg again but all was fine.  It does sound like your numbers are doubling.  My advice is just try to enjoy your pregnancy.  Stress will not be good for you.  Keep up on your appts. and relax.  Good Luck to you.  I am so sorry you have suffered a couple losses.  Take Care

I think you should try to relax as much as possible.  I have had an ectopic too and know how scary it is.  I think your progesterone level is wonderful.  My doctor told me that *USUALLY* LOW progesterone (under 10) is the first red flag for ectopic...w/ my ectopic my progesterone NEVER got to 19, not even w/ supplementation.  So, TRY to relax and wait it out until you see that baby in your uterus on u/s hopefully soon! Best wishes to you!
