effects of quitting the bc pill

could a yeast infection be caused by not taking your birth control pill? everything online says it can be caused by taking it. i have been off it for 2 months and have a yeast infection and wondering if this might be the reason why.

I don't know for sure but I don't think that not taking birth control could cause a yeast infection. If so everyone who doesn't take birth control or has stopped birth control would have a yeast infection. THey're typically caused by bathing in a dirty tub, not wiping right(wiping back to front instead of front to back) moisture in that area (cotton underwear is recommended to keep from getting moisture in that area. Silk or polyester will cause moisture especially if you get hot. Cotton saoks up moisture while moisture will just linger with silk.) I have heard too much yeasty foods can cause one but nothing I've seen or heard shows it to be true. Sex with an unclean partner could cause a yeast infection or being touched in that area by a man with dirty hands. There's quite a bit that can cause a yeast infection but not taking birth control isn't one of them I'm sure. Think if you have done any of the above activities.

well i read that it is caused by a ph imbalance inside you. and if taking the pill causes your hormones to change which is what causes the imbalance, wouldn't not taking it all the sudden after 3 years cause your hormones to change causing the infection? i don't take baths, i've been with the same partner for over a year, and have wiped correctly from an early age. i got one before from taking the antibiotic zithromax, but i'm not on any antibiotics now.
