embolization or myomectomy?

I would like to know what is the best option to remove a 5 cm uterine fibroid. I am planing on having it removed. My gynecologist told me to choose between an embolization and myomectomy. What do think?

I had a 9cm fibroid - and I did a myomectomy. It was a smoothe procedure and my recovery period was rather comfortable.  The only thing I was disappointed with was that there was a much smaller fibroid right near it, but they left it in.  Of course they told me after the surgery. If i knew that was a possibility, i would tell them to remove others(if there are any) while they're at it.

I had a myomectomy last year for a fibroid the size of an apple.  I have no regrets that I had the surgery, but it did require a 3-night hospital stay and a 6-week recovery period.  So it is a major surgery.
