did your dr tell you to take it?? never try to take anything to get the ball rolling without consent. if you were intructed (which i guess you were not since they didnt tell you where to purchase it) it would be with vitamins. i read about the use and while it can ripen the cervix, it can also do nothing. try sex, walking, whatever your dr tells you is ok to do.

I found it at CVS and I did not take it oraly, i used it as a massage for my cervix and i repeated within a half an hour later. I couldnot take it oraly even if i wanted to because it says not to take it oraly if you are on blood thinners and i am on heprin. I woke up this morning due to contractions but none seriouse enough for me to go to the Hospital. I am wondering if it did any change in my cervix though! ......I wish i could tell, cuz u can dialate without heavy contractions so its hard for me to tell at this point.

You can buy it anywhere vitamins are sold.
Alot of midwifes use this, they use it for a pereanatal massage and rub it on the cervix.
I plan on using this if I need to induce my labor as a pereanatal massage. I dont think there is any harm in rubbing it in that area.
I might not take it orally. I would have my aprehension about that.
Although it really is just a form of an Omega. I know it wouldnt cause diarhea (diarrhea) like Castor Oil.

my mother is a DOULA and recommended that I take it in the last two weeks of pregnancy.  She told me that she has known many women who have taken it orally (none who inserted it though) and she thinks the results are good.  I am in 39th week and have just started taking it.  She also said that it wont make me go into labor, it is just for ripening the cervix and preparing for birth.

well, it has been a couple of months, did this work for you guys? a friend of mine who is a cnm told me that i could take it one a day for a week then 2 a day for a week then 3 a day on for my last six weeks, and since i am finally there...i was curious.

i don't think i will though, not with my complications anyways, but i wondered if it worked and how exactly do you massage your cervix with it?
