false positve?

i took two Target brand hpts today and both came up postive ( they came out of the same box)... and the positive was really faint but you could see.. i then took too accu clear test and they were both negative.. i then took a dollar store test and it was negative.. so I am guessing the target brand test was giving am false positve... its the kind that has to show a line or you arent pregnant...

different HPTs have different sensitivities. Some require hcg levels to be 25, some 50, some even higher. it is possible that your levels are high enough for one test to detect, but not high enough for another. or you may have had something to drink prior to one that diluted your urine more. different time of day can influence test results this early on as well. i would wait a day or 2 and test again.

I would say a positive is a positive. You are more likely to get a wrong negative rather than a positive. You must be early on in your pregnancy. Wait a week or so and test again because by that point the line would be darker. Congrats!

I hoenstly think it was a false positive I did some reasearch on the web about blue dye target tests and they are well known to give false positives

if it was a blue dye test, i wouldn't trust it, you can see a pic on my page of one that was negative! and i have had that many times with those tests.

Yes, if it was a blue dye test, then, it could be a false positive. You could always get a blood test to be really sure one way or another.
