feeding

how much milk should a newborn drink? my baby is only 3 days and is 5lbs 1/4 ounces. since she has been home she has only drunk one 3 ounce bottle.

she should eat every 2 to4 hours and being so little she will only take few ounces at a time but more frequently if you feel she is not eating enough call your ped they will have good advice for you and good luck with her they are such a joy.

My baby would only take 1/2 an oz. to 1 oz. at a time for the first month. she is now 9 weeks, and will drink about 2 1/2 oz. per feeding. She eats every 2-3 hours during the day.

my baby ate 1 1/2 - 2 ounces about every 2-3 hours...as they get older they drink moreand wait longer in between bottles but every 2-3 hours for newborns :D
