I posted this in your previous thread but didn't know if you saw it.

Have you been to Babycenter? The website has bulletin boards, and one of them is for postpartum depression. Maybe you would find it helpful to post there as well, since there are women there who would know just what you're going through.

http://bbs.babycenter.com/board/baby/emotrecovery/3374

That link should take you there, but if it doesn't (I don't know if the number at the end changes daily or as posts increase), you can go to babycenter.com and go to the community bulletin boards. Click on baby boards. Then Mom's health and well-being. The circle for PPD should be under there.

Good luck!

Hey Melissa, don't sweat it.  You have every right to come here and vent (maybe it's a good idea to write VENT on your posts where you don't need advice?).  I, for one, am more than happy to hear how you are doing, whether it is good or bad.  Honestly, I think of you often throughout the day.  I'm glad you are feeling better today - it seems to me that it's close to the time when your meds should really start kicking in and getting those seratonin levels to where they should be.  Isn't it NUTS how chemicals in our brains are so powerfull??

Love and hugs to you.  Please feel free to email me any time:  fairb.***@****.

Glad you found that site.  I tend to use a whole variety of boards to get through the pain of this year (two miscarriages).  I also started seeing a therapist.  I'm sorry yesterday was so difficult for you, but I guess emotions run high among all of us.

If your meds don't start helping more, please talk to your doc.  Maybe you'll need a dose change, or else a different med.  As many people have noted, it IS a chemical imbalance.  I do some work in this field and I know that it's NOT something you can "just snap out of."

I really do wish you the best of luck in getting through this.

I'm sorry about your brother I would never kill myself its just the thoughts want leave and I can't help it like I said its a chemical imbalence in my brain and only those who have been through PPD or anykind of deep depression know what I'm talking about others really don't have a clue I wish I knew why I felt like this sometimes I do have a wonderful beautiful lil boy and I want to enjoy him but during this depression its hard I know it sounds wrong and ugly but thats how the depression is its an ugly thing and I don't wish it on anyone its horriable I want to be the old me again.Completly not just somedays but everyday. and faceing my problem is helping more then others give me credit for.

You're right...facing your problem is HUGE!  Please stick with going to the doctor.  If you're unhappy with your doctor for any reason, don't just stop going.  You can always switch doctors.  While I never had PPD, I suffered a major breakdown about 15 years ago when I was 18.  I came out of it a much stronger person.  Depression no longer can get the best of me.  Also, remember this is a difficult time of year for everyone.  While the holidays are joyous in so many ways, it is also a time when many people suffer from depression.  Anyway my main reason for posting is to say that when things get rough, know that they WILL get better.  Best of luck to you!
