fetal growth but no heartbeat

I had my first ultrasound on 4/8 when, according to my caculations, I was 8 wks pregnant.  The vaginal ultrasound showed the yolk sac measuring at 6 wks; no baby or heartbeat detected.  I went back another week later, and the ultrasound showed the fetal pole measuring at 6 wks, but still no heartbeat.  The doctor is not a 100% sure since there was development during that one week; however, he thinks that the chances are very low that it will be a viable pregnancy.  I am going back in another week and a half from the last ultrasound to see what has changed.  Has anybody had happy endings from a similar situation?

i had the same problem and finally they were able to get the heartbeat. it freaked me out. stay strong hopefully everything will go good.
