fetal low heart rate concern:

by butterflybehindu, Apr 23, 2005 12:00AM
Hi: I am new to this forum. Just found it tryng to find some information.
My question is: I just found out I am pregnant, with my first child. I am 25. When I went into the hospital I thought I had a bladder infection and it turn up i had a UTI and I am 6 weeks pregnant. The doctor told me that Everything looks ok except my baby has a heart beat is only 95-99 when it is suppose to be in the 120's to 140's. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. The doctor was a real ***** and showed no emotions when telling me i will more then likely have a miscarriage soon. I havent started bleeding or anything and i have been resting alot. is there anything else I can do to maybe prevent this? please help.

hi.  I was 6 wks 2 days last week.  And teh radiologist scared the heck out of me when she said it was low (101)  then my fertility specialist said at 6 weeks they don't even count it.  They just see if there is cardiac activity.  Good luck,  When do you go back?  I go back Monday at noon.

I told mgi last week that at 6W the u/s picled up a heartbeat of 100 BPM.  I had an u/s at 7W2D and it was 177 BPM. I am now 39+weeks and scheduled for a c-section on Monday. Try not to worry.

sounds like we are close on this area.  Lets keep in touch.  Funny I was worried before my u/s because I had no morning sick and no sore breasts.  I finally have the sickness but no breasts.  DO you worry about evry pain you feel down there?   The docs asked if it felt like cramps  (unlike you I have had bleeding)  I wonder how you know teh feel of cramps vs  just discomfort down there?  Are you lying on your back for bedrest?  Is it uncomfortable to sit.  (sitting has been teh most uncomf posistion)  I am so worried I am praying and counting down teh hours  (39  till my ultrasound)  I was tempted to move it to mon AM  but hated to miss a whole day of work just to get an answer 3 hours earlier.  Good luck.

Im sure your both okay,  You are pretty early to see, Its the waiting that makes you so nervous , pregnancy is 40 weeks of waiting and worry.  Im sure all will be alright ,Keep an posititive outlook Good luck

Yeah on a heartbeat!  You are early and it does show in early weeks.  Hang in there and so how things go.  Some doctors tend to doom a pregnancy to soon and I think it is just horrible.  I hope that all goes well for you.  In the meantime, visit this web-site for some further encouragement.

I have the opposite problem.  I am a little over 8 weeks lmp and had an u/s on Monday.  Tech said everything looked fine and baby's heartbeat was 170.  Everything I read says that normal is 110 to 160.  Is the fact that my baby's is higher than normal a sign that something is wrong with his/her heart?  Anyone experienced this before?  This is my second pregnancy, but I didn't have an u/s with my first child until 20 weeks and think the hb was 130 bpm then.

This is a great sign.  I think your baby should be just fine.  When your other baby's heartbeat was 130, was it a girl?  I have heard that below 150 is a girl and over 150 is a boy.  Maybe you have a boy?  Let us know when you deliver what your baby is.  I would be curious if this correlation is true.  You can e-mail too at lvn_mom***@****. I wish you well with your pregnancy!

Hi everyone.

I have a long story about my second pregnancy.  I was having a period every two weeks and having trouble becomng pregnant.  My doctor decided to start me on provera after doing a blood test to make sure I was not pregnant.  Five days later I still had no period and decided to take a pregnancy test and it was positive.  I called my doc and we got another level, which was 426, we repeated it four days later and it was 2556.  I had an ultrasound at five weeks and just saw the sac.  Just had another one and my heart rate was only 112.  My doc is making me think something is wrong with this pregnancy.  I did not have problems with my last one.  I am going to the lake this week for nine days and I don't want to do anything to mess this one up.  HELP
