fetus heartbeat

Hi everyone. I am 9 weeks 2 days pregnant. I had my first appt. on Monday and the baby measured in at 8 weeks 6 days, which is about how far along I was. The problem is that the Dr. couldn't find the heartbeat. Is it normal not to see the heartbeat at 8 weeks along? He was very insensitive about it. I have to go back in Tuesday for another Ultrasound. He did the vaginal Ultrasound if that makes a difference.

Just curious if anyone knows anything about this. Thanks/

I have herd of women not finding the heart beat until 9 or 10 weeks, so just wait till your next appointment in a week, I'm sure everything will be fine, just think positive and dont lose hope!!!!

I had an vaginal ultrasound at 8w2d and my baby had a heart beat but usually in the books I have read it takes at least 3 months but that is only for some people i wouldn't be too worried.

At the exact same measurement the baby is 8 weeks 6 days is when I was told no heartbeat was found. I couldn't take the disappointing news, so I did request to have HGC testing done. Once I got those results, I knew my baby had died. I had to have a D&C done April 12th  of this yr. I had a missed miscarriage. I do hope for the best of news for you and maybe your little bundle just didn't want come say hi.. so please hang in there. I know its hard to imagine. God Bless..

Since this, I just found out I was pg again on 08/09/07- so I praying and hoping it goes all the way this time. The baby we lost would have been our first.
