fever for 1 week

my 2 1/2 yrs old daughter has a fever for 1 week, sometimes it reaches to 104 F, my pediatrician have some blood and urine tests made, and she was given antibiotic, amoxycillin for 10 days.. we started the antibiotic 5 days ago, but she stills have slight fever (100 - 100.6 F)at some other days during the antibiotic.. is there somthing to worry about this? what are the possbile disease associated with this. thank you very much and your response will be appreciated.

100-100.6 is only a low grade fever.  Most pediatricians do not consider this a fever in my experience.  The antibiotics may be working since you are seeing a drop in the fever.  What was the diagnosis from the tests?

Also, if it was a virus and not a bacterial infection, antibiotics won't help at all, and the change in temperature would have been just from the virus working itself out.

What were the results of the blood and urine tests? Did you daughter have a urinary tract infection? Were her white counts high? Usually antibiotics should reduce symptoms within 24-48 hours.

With blood and urine they should have gotten a good idea of what it was...virus or bacteria.  If you got an antibiotic it would have been bacteria.  It sounds like the symptoms have gone down a bit.  I would try some pedialite to stop any dehydration and continue the antibiotic for the ten days and reassess then.  There is also no harm in calling the doc back.
