food poisoning while pregnant...

Yesterday I experienced some level of food poisoning after eating shellfish (which I never knew could be harmful to eat while pregnant) and became ill.  My symptoms were a severe headache and extreme vomiting which only lasted about 4 hours and now all symptoms are gone.

I'm in my 11th week and just curious if anyone has experienced any type of food poisoning during pregnancy or happen to know the risks.  I have a call in to the doctor, just waiting for him to call me back.  Very worried...

I had food poisoning with my first pregnancy.  Fortunately everything went well and my daughter is now 16 years old.  I'm not sure if there is any risk having actual food poisoning but from what I have been told, shellfish is very dangerous while pregnancy.  I would check with the dr just to make sure of any risks (if any at all).

Thanks for the reply.  I spoke to the doctor and he said that there is nothing to worry about.  He said our bodies react differently to foods that may have never bothered us before pregnancy.  Needless to say, I'm not going to be eating anymore shellfish.. ;)

My wife contracted the food poisen compilabacta whilst on holiday. the sysmptoms were usual slight fever, stomach cramps and severe diarrhea. although we saw the doctor, the only advice was that we should wait for a scan in the coming weeks. at the time the pregnancy was only in about the 4th or 5th  week and at a time of rapid cell development.[ i think ]

does anyone have any experience / knowledge of any problems / issues with this or any other type of food poisening inn early pregnancy?

I am 4weeks pregnant and had severe vommiting and fevers 4days ago. It was a 24hour bug.
I work in a hospital and deal with lots of germs.
Just hoping all will be ok.
I am a worry wart when it comes to health and pregnancy.
