hi! DH (pharmacist) said zofran can give you gas, and it should fade after an hour or so. you can talk to your dr about possibly using gas-x. some obs are ok with using it, some aren't. he also said take the lowest possible dose of zofran. try one tomorrow- if it's effective, then stick to one. otherwise, it's comparing benefits. right now, it's probably most important that you get some nutrition, and if the zofran makes it possible and you need to take 2, then do that. (i took the zofran and never noticed an increase in gas. but then again, i was so relieved to not be puking, and pregnancy has it's share of gas anyways, i didn't notice.) another thought- could it be something that you're eating now that you're not as nausious?
I have told others in other posts, but I have developed a lactose intolerance during pregnancy. Even a bowl of cereal makes me miserable. Although, it probably is the medicine...you may want to check your diet! I've had to totally revamp mine since getting pregnant! :)
good point rubyolivia. every since i got pregnant i digest EVERYTHING differently than i did before. (that's if i digest it all!) i'm still depressed that my favorite thing in the world, garlic, makes me miserable.
Thanks for the info everyone. I haven't been able to drink milk or have cereal either, I have not took my medicine yet today hopefully that will help too. I am trying to eat every 2 hours, but I just will eat like half a jello snack pack. Hopefully I won't need the medicine any more. Again thanks for the info =)
