getting pregnant with endometriosis

by foreverpink, Feb 11, 2007 12:00AM
recently i just had surgery for endometriosis. my ob, thought that there was just minimal spots, because of the pain level. but when she went it, the endometriosis was not only on my uterus, but on my ovaries, and suurounding organs. to put it painly, i was a mess. she says i have stage 4 endometriosis, and wants to do a hysterectomy, but says that because i am still so young, she wants to give me the chance to have a baby. is it foolish to think that with the stage 4 endometriosis that i will be able to have a child? and would it just be better for my long term health if i had a hysterectomy?

Honestly it depends on you.  How old are you?  Are you married?  Have you ever had any children before?  Are you in a serious relationship?  These are questions you should ask yourself.

Good luck with the outcome...  I know it must be a hard decision to have to make.

I also have endometriosis...  I have a 7 year old also.  Husband and I have been TTC for over a year.  I'm currently taking fertility drugs so hopefully my wait will be over soon.

Again, good luck to you in what ever it is that you decide.
