not much you can do or take for it. i too got pregnancy acne during the second and third trimesters. it has not gone away now that I have delivered as i am breastfeedingBreast-feeding tips Breastfeeding Breastfeeding - resources but it has gotten slightly better. it is very annoying!!!! It was at its worst the day I delivered which was totally embarrassing in the hospital!!
I can relate to you girls. I also had great skin prior to pregnancy and then my skin was awful. I was so depressed about it because I looked so bad! Mine was also very bad right before deliveryC-section Delivery presentations Infant care following delivery and for a couple weeks afterward. There isn't much you can do at least nothing worked for me. After I had Avery my back broke out terribly. I actually had to go to the doctor and go on medication. It took about 3-4 months to clearClear by design Clear eyes Clear eyes acr Clear eyes clr Clear-atadine Clear-atadine children's up! I promise it does go away eventually. Sorry I couldn't help but I wanted to offer my sympathy. I know it stinks!! So much for the beautiful pregnancy glow-I never looked so bad!! It is all worth it in the end!! :)
With both of my sons I had horrible acne during the entire pregnancies (and great skin prior). My Ob recommended using the St. Ives Apricot Scrub-- but not the medicated formulation (it has Salicylic Acid in it), just the plain version. (I actually bought the Wal-Mart knock-off brand, as it had the same ingredients and was a little cheaper.) It definitely helped when I scrubbed my face twice a day. Also, and this sounds bizarre, I know, but one of my pg books recommended using Crest toothpaste on bad acne areas! You just spread it on and let it dry, then rinse off and pat dry. Keep it away from your eyes though, as the minty fumes are quite strong.
Just keep reminding yourself that it's all worth it... between the morning sickness, the linea nigra, the mask of pregnancy, the heartburn, the frequent urination, the varicose veins, and then the tears down there (I had big sons), a little bit of acne really wasn't too big of a deal in the grand scheme of things!! LOL
