has anyone heard of antiphospholipid?

by calieghsmommy, Oct 14, 2006 12:00AM
Hi, I am pregnant again after 3 mc in the last year. After the last one in July they sent me to a hematologist, and they have discovered that I have antiphospholipid antibodies, I have to take blood thinner injections daily in my tummy. I am now 8 weeks, went to the dr. a week ago and all looked well. I go Monday to a maternal fetal specialist and I will be seen weekly for awhile with all of my complications. Has anyone heard of this? I just hope this medicine is the answer to my prayers. I just lost my little brother in a tragic car accident at the age of 15. I don't know if I can handle another loss right now. I am also taking prometrium to stabilize my progesterone levels. I take 6 pills at bedtime and a shot daily.
Thanks for all the help you can give.

Wow, you definately have alot on your plate. I am so sorry about your lost. I hope you have a healthy 9 months and a healthy baby. All of the medicine and the shots will be so worth it at the end. Try to not stress yourself and keep up with your meds. You are in my thoughts. STICKY BABY DUST~~~~~~~~~~~

Thank you!! I do feel like my plate is a little overloaded. I have a almost 4 year old daughter and two stepsons one of which lives with my husband and I. I have been standing strong for all of them. or trying to anyways.

My husband has a coworker who's wife was put on "Lovenox" when she was 3months PG. Blood thinner shot in the abdomen 2 times a day.  She delivered a healthy 9lb baby girl!!! It works so try not to stress out too much ;)

i actually have it, and ive been getting lovenox injections once a day, and a baby asprin. i had 5 prior m/c's before finding out about the blood clotting disorder. im currently 36 weeks and my perinatal specialist just switched me to heparin injections twice daily. everything has been going great except for my stomach looking like a dart board.

best of luck,
Tiffany
