have a cold and pregnant

I have cought a cold from my mother in law and I am in my first trimester 11 weeks and I dont know what to take and everyone else I have asked told me not to take nothing just let it run its course but it driving me up the wall everytime I cough I vomit and I cant deal with it Can someone pls help me?

The only thing you can take in the first trimester is cough drops, get ones with vitamin C to help fight the cold. If you are stuffed up you can use saline nose drops (non-medicated) . I am 8 weeks and finally getting over a cold, I know how you feel, it stinks.

I have tried the cough drops and the saline nose drops they both make me vomit due to still having moring sickness is there anything else I can tak?

Ugh, I know what you mean, I have had bad "morning" sickness too. I just remembered when I asked the pharmacist she said I could do vicks chloraseptic spray for a sore throat. I also drank Chamomile tea and that helped with the stuffiness and sore throat and I sat in the bathroom w/ hot water running.
Other than those ideas I can't think of anything. Unfortunately our options for cold medicines don't open up until the 3rd trimester and even then it is only sudafed I think.
