hcg level, was doubling every 48 hrs, now it's going up but not doubling

My LMP was 7/9/04.  I gut a uti on 7/30 and had the dr do a blood test just in case I was pregnant to not be on antibiotics.  It came back negative.  On 8/5 I still had the uti and went in.  They did a urine pregnancy test and it came back positive.  I then took three more; all positive.  On 8/6 I did bloodwork and was told my hcg was "normal" and my prog was 10.7.  I was put on progesterone troche.  8/10 got a shot of prog and more bloodwork which was hcg "normal" and prog dropped 1 point.  So we doubled my prog troche.  8/12 hcg was 4858 (doubling I was told) and prog was 11.8.  Doubled my prog troche meds to 400 mg now.  On 8/14 hcg was 6096 and prog was 15.3.  I am glad my prog has went up as it should.  However, I was doubling every 48 hrs I was told.  Should I be concerned?  I go back tomorrow for more bloodwork.

By the way, I forgot to say, I'm not sure how far I am.  According to LMP 5 weeks.

It's normal for your hcg to double every 48 hrs until you reach a certian time i forget when it is but then it kindof just goes up slowly.

Got bloodwork again today.  Hcg was 11,093 (almost doubled since Sat) and my progesterone went down to 13.2.  What's going on with me?  I am on meds for prog and how could it go down????  It seems like when one number's good the other's not.

I thought your hcg levels were suppose to double until 11 weeks and then they start to level off....

I am going through the exact same thing.....I'm also on the prog. I just don't understand it... If you find out something please let me know and I will do the same.....Thanks.

I was told prog should fluctuate some.  I am getting an ultrasound tomorrow (Monday).  Hoping and praying to see the heartbeat!  Good luck to you.  E-mail me if you want ***@**** and I'll answer as many questions as I can.
