hcg level

i went to the er the other day took a urine test it came out negative and the doctor is like ive never seen the urine tests be wrong im like thats strange cause i took two home pregnency tests and they came out positive i havent missed my period yet its in two days but i was feeling strange so i decided to tke a pregnency test so then the doctor did a blood test they found hcg level of 47 so shes like i guess the urine test messed up so two days latr the level went to 91 what does that mean ???

it doesnt sound like your doctors very experienced because plenty of urine tests come back wrong. its just because the levels arn't high enough at the time or the tests are faulty.

your levels being at 47 then 91. mean your pregnant. and your doctor was wrong.

For some reason, urine tests used at doctors' offices tend to detect the hcg at higher levels than the hpts.  From what I've read on other websites, peeonastick.com for example, it's not uneard of for a woman to get a BFN on her doctor's urine pregnancy test and then go home and get a positive on sensitive tests like FRER.

The hCG levels rise first in your blood and later in your urine. So, even though you hCG level was 47 in your blood it might not have been that detectable in your urine yet. The tests that the doctors offices use are actually not as sensitive as the HPT. Your numbers look good for very early pregnancy. Congrats!
