its ok, did you do any home preg tests before your beta and if so were the positive or negative , you are still ealry,I did IVF and my # 10 days after a 5 day transfer were 43 I have twins, so its ok at this point good luck to you

By day 17 after retrieval my clinic would like the number to reach 100.  You don't say whether they transferred 3-day or 5-day embryos, but it sounds like you have time to get there if the number is 41 already.

no i didnt do any home pregnancy test and they transfered 2 embroy on day 5
I am very worried we are trying from 8 years and had 6-7 early miscarriages, i am praying that in next blood test it should get double.
i was thinking that this (41) might a low number.
but anyways thanks for your reply. I am hoping for good.

It's not so much a low number as an early number.  Keep your hopes up!

by 40smama, Sep 01, 2009 02:42AM
Congratulations on your good number - I didn't have any symptoms until around 7 weeks pregnant and boy did they hit!  I'm sure once your number gets higher, you'll be experiencing plenty of them.

To: everyone
hi I am very scared, i am 6 week pregnant but i have no symptoms at all, my doctor booked me for ultrasound on 19 sep.

i had my transfer on Aug 17th and how they calcuate week after transfer do they go by periods as normal?

some please advise me on symptoms?

by AnnieBrooke, Sep 07, 2009 08:18PM
Yes, they use the counting method that goes by periods, because that is the way all the charts and books are written.  So, with 5-day embryos, your conception date would be August 12, and counting the medical way (as of first day of last period, except that with IVF it is not a natural period so they just count back two weeks) your pregnancy would have started with a "first day of last period" of July 29th.  Thus as of today, September 7,  you would be 5 weeks 5 days pregnant.

I had almost no symptoms at that point in pregnancy, that was true both times and both times I was carrying twins at that point.  If twins would not give you symptoms, I don't know what would.

Good luck on the 19th!

Were each of the three tests 48 hours apart or so?

by AnnieBrooke, Sep 07, 2009 08:59PM
If the last two tests were only 48 hours apart, it could be that both embryos "took,"  However, at my clinic they made it a point to caution us that "vanished twin" happens a lot, and you could certainly prove it by me -- my first pregnancy one of the twins faded at 8 weeks gestation, and I had a healthy singleton.  My second pregnancy I miscarried twins.  So no matter what answer you get on the 19th, keep somewhat reserved...vanished twin is very common.  The reason I say that it might be that both embryos took is that although the numbers were low, they are doubling rapidly (that is, if the last 2 numbers were 48 hours or less apart.)  Some people believe doubling faster than the norm is a sign of twins.  I could not have proved that by my hCG numbers, though.  It's all such a guess at this stage!!!.
