Well I had heart burn up to the day that I had my son. I know all about that throwing up stuff. It just burns even worse. Try eating some tums, I know they are chalky but they help alittle. Also, my doc told me I could take pepcid if I wanted too. I did a few times when it got to bad.

I've noticed heartburn a lot lately too! I drank some orange juice the other day - oh my gosh - it made it 10 times worse! I also notice I have acid in my stomach a lot and it's very uncomfortable.

Another quick question. I have what feels like a pulled muscle where my leg meets my hip bone. I'm sure it's just stretching and the weight of pregnancy, but is anyone else having this? Thanks!

I remember having my heartburn for about 6 weeks in the first trimester. Will your doctor let you take anything??/ my doctor allowed me to take Mylanta, it helped a little, old wives claim it means your baby has a lot of hair !!!

good luck

That pain sounds just like what I feel. It's your round ligament stretching. Totally normal.

Well, the heartburn lasted all day and all night.  It has finally gone away and I am just hoping this peanut butter sandwich i am eating for breakfast wont make it come back.  My DH went and got me regular coke last night because he said it would help.  I dont think anything would.  I woke up every hour with the pain and burning.  I am going to call the doctor today to see what i can take.

I had heartburn really badly with both my babies and it stopped as soon as I had given birth & I mean AS SOON AS. It's wierd the way it goes straightaway.
I am in the UK and used Gaviscon can you get that in the US? I didn't even use a spoon for the medicine I just used to swig it from the bottle.
Best of luck & you have my sympathy. xxx

I know what you mean about the heartburn, I have it terribly!  I swear, even water gives me heartburn!  I've been taking pepsid and also taking maalox extra, it seems to help but only temporarily.  I don't know how the coke worked for you, but I think pop makes it worse for me.  I've tried just about everything.  I was in Tim Hortons with my mom and did the burp-puke thing all over the floor.  I was so embarassed.  I didn't think it would actually come up!  Hang in there, we both only have a bit further to go!
